NGK LTR7IX-11 Gap for Eco SC
Thursday, December 14, 2006 3:47 AM
I finally got my NGKs in and gapped them at .35 to start with. I'll install them tonight and see how things are but wanted to see if anyone felt I should go lower?

I've read anywhere between .29 and .35 but nothing really fact only what folks felt worked best. I'm seeing 11 psi out of the charger and have a heat exchanger installed. Stock pulley as well so I'm running basic bolt ons with the GM ECO SC....

Thanks.

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Hello,

The correct plug for this vehicle one stage cooler in Iridium IX is the
LTR6IX-11 stock no. 6509. You may also want to consider reducing the gap from .044" to .035" to reduce spark blow out due to combustion chamber turbulence. Note: these are fine wire plugs and special care is required when adjusting the gap. Do not use anything that will pry against the center firing electrode as plug damage could result. TR6 and TR7IX are incorrect thread designs for this engine and should not be used.

I run this and it runs perfect.

How could I tell if I'm misfiring or if my spark is being blown out?

http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_cross.asp?pid=LTR7IX-11&x=57&y=10

search sparkplugs.com for LTR7IX-11 and one result comes up, thats where i bought mine

at 7.60 a piece i bought eight just in case.... the tips of iridium plugs are easily chipped so i didn't want to get screwed... luckily i didn't mess up and now i have 4 more for whenever i need to change my plugs out... no there not for sale

Did everyone gap theirs at .35?

I've not installed mine yet as I'm still going to replace my coolant and flush it all as well as add new thermostat and new coolant sensor after Christmas.

Mine have been gapped at .035 for a long while, No issues even at 15psi on the charger.

Whats the deal with these new plugs vs the srt-4 plugs? Or are they one in the same....

Thanks!

I think these are the correct length where as the SRT plugs are a little short.
