Ok well over this winter i am doing a eco swap ito my sunfire. Now my eventual goal is to be boosted but i cant exactly figure out what way i want to go with this really. Now im not looking for hp figures really but ill give you a idea or what i plan on for the engine im building up:
Forged pistons
H beam rods
Removal of balance shaft assembly
Crane (i think it was thiers) boost cams
Stage 3 or so spec clutch
Fidanza flywheel
Lightened alt and crank pulleys
62mm tb
Upper and lower mounts
And later purchases will be:
Patriot stage 2 head
Now I know the car is going to be a bit of apain to drive with all the rotating mass gone..but i know itll rev like a mofo.
Now my 2 options are turbo..which i know reliablity is an issue or supercharger.
My goal is around the 300 hp range and of course the same or more torque.
Now i havent seen numbers of a supercharger with the smaller pullies on like the 2.5 and 2.4" But would 300 be kinda pushing the charger a bit too hard? Id make sure i got the intercooler setup and all that ori could go the hahn stage 2 kit with the turbo upgrade. And i knwo 30 would be easy with that for sure.....any ideas? info? comments? ect...mind you i will be putting this on a stock engine for abit till i get the second engine done...so ill keep it low boost anyways...phil
If your boosting an Ecotec....HRC is the way to go. I went 12.53 on stock everything and am set to go 11s in 2007.
