Intakes for Boost?
Monday, October 09, 2006 5:15 PM
Has anybody seen impressive numbers from using the Venom intake manifold for boost? I've got a buddy who is practically giving it away. I've got the HO mani ready to install with a phenalic adapter and everything, just wondering about the HO vs. Venom - which is better for boost. I know the HO won't heat soak with the adapter however the Venom might but not sure, there is alot of alum to it.

Thoughts?

The H.O. will still heat soak with the phenolic flange from underhood temps alone, but just not as quickly as if it were bolted right to the head. The venom manifold can take a larger throttle body without porting. The H.O. manifold is 58mm. I believe the venom has shorter runners and a larger body...so, for boost, I would give the win to the venom intake.

The venom also has an advantage over the HO for water injection as well.

The Venom is also an overpriced, piece of crap, stock imitation manifold.

That is all.

Really? Have you seen the intake dyno poorly or just hate the fact that venom loves theres crap so much?
I can appreciate that annoyance.

The Venom intake manifold is just a metal version of the stock manifold that they priced about 3x what it should be. I haven't seen one part of theirs work as well as claimed...EVER. Even their nitrous kits are iffy to me.

Bah...It's still Venom. I wouldn't buy it just because of that simple fact. I'm suprised they could even make something like that though.

nevermind, that is a stock photo (probably of a honda)...well, nevermind then. I will retract my statement and say go with the H.O. I had seen another picture showing the venom as a log style for the 2.4L, but that also was a stock photo.

Yeah, it looks close to the stock manifold but doesn't the stock manifold. A little more equivalvent length going on with the venom but for the most part it looks like they just copied it and made it out of aluminum.

Yup,
Made a post about it.

2.4L Venom Manifold pics

But if you can get it cheap.
You can always resell it for a profit.
