7000rpm on ecotec

Ok I have a big question for everyone, I plan on buying a Hptuner for fine tuning my car, I also want to increase the rpm rev limiter, I want to put it to 7200rpm to let me shift to 7000rpm... I want this because I have a big t3/t4 turbo so it take time to spool and when I shifft my power still going up so my rev limiter is the problem . I read in the ecotec GM book that my engine can go up to 11 000 rpm without any problem, but i'm a little bit sceptical, I dont want to break something or explode my engine, i'm actually running 8 and 10 psi(with my boost controler) next year i plan running 8psi an 14 psi (with a boost controler)...do you think I will run safe at 7000 rpm or I will break my engine or something...

No it WONT go to 11,000, it will handle 7000 rpms just fine, but I wouldnt go much over that on stock valve train

7000 will be fine, however, with HP tuners you can only go to 8192 maximum , and you can only tune up to 7000 so you cant touch anything after 7000 even if the rev limiter is no higher

EVERYONE NEEDS TO PUT THE BUILD BOOK DOWN. THE NUMBERS ARE NOT ACCURATE. WE HAVE PROVEN THIS MANY TIMES NOW.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

As others stated it should be fine at 7k rpm, mine is currently at 6900. However you probably won't make any power above 6k unless you change your cams. Both of my dynos, with and without boost drastically lose power after 6k. My rev limiter is only raised for autoX so I can stay in second gear and not have to waste time shifting into third or hanging by or boucing off the limiter.

ok Yea i think about that before but after 6000 rpm the turbo pull is so hard, let my engine rev more will help a lot!! it's because I've a big turbo lol
