Sooo has anyone had a leaky snout seal on the s/c?
Sunday, September 03, 2006 6:27 PM
I've been hearing this very very small clicking......And I went to fix it today....found some of the screws holding my supercharger pulley on were loose.....anyways.....I pull the pulley off and theres something wet inside the pulley......So I smelled it and it smelled like crap.............

Immediately I knew it was the s/c oil.......and from the looks of it...the bottom of the seal is leaking..........So.....now I'm contemplating on WHAT to do.........Should I just get the seal replaced....or should I go all out and get it ported and completely rebuilt???

Anybody know of any good companies that rebuild/port superchargers?

Here's a pic of the nastyness inside the pulley by the way....

I was looking at this company www.magnumpowers.com and I emailed them and within 10 minutes they had prices for me. 300 to completely disassemble and rebuild and 400 to port......I dunno....Just fixing the seal would be cheaper I'm sure.........I'll check with a local shop here first before I do anything drastic....

hmmm, odd, never seen that happen. might be an overspinning thing w/ the 2.6, but then again, mighta just been a factory fluke. i think you should get it ported, but there has to be cheaper places. I didn't think it was that much, look up what companies the GTP guys use? Ported would be badass, but in terms of easyness and cheapness, replacing the seal is easier.

Porting my M62 for the eco was $395 from Stiegemeier, with it full rebuild it would have been 695 so that sounds about right.

Check out my car....

It appears I'll be sending the s/c to stiegemeier to get it rebuilt andported. They quoted me a price far less than magnumpowers................I might even have another special suprise done also if its not too much
