how do i fix this
Wednesday, August 30, 2006 12:49 PM
well, my engine light came on, so since i work at GM i decided to quickly throw on the computer and see what it says. it said my fuel is to rich. so does anyone know hwo to fix this with the stage 2 hahn kit? does it have anything to do with fuel pressure?

What are you using for fuel mods ???
I am not completely familiar with the hahn stage 2 set up..... (eco I am assuming.....)

I had that same code with my 2001 2200 turbo........ turns out it was just too rich...... like running 10.9 in boost.......... safe...... but too rich..... I didn't have a wideband.... I got one and leaned it out some..... I haven't got a fuel related code since...

what is your fuel pressure hitting at full boost? i have mine set at 95 psi at 8lbs boost.. and i run about 10.3:1 air fuel ratio.. and no rich codes just catalyst efficiency since the hahn kit gets rid of cat........ if your pressure is higher turn the brass needle in a little bit see if that helps.

I thow the .."Rich bank 1 sensor 1" code all the time. Its just saying your running too rich....which is under boost. No worries though, itll go on and off all the time especially if your using the Cartech BEGI for fuel. You also should tune better and go for a 12.0-12.5 a/f ratio under boost. Your loosing alot of power running rich like that.

12.0-12.5 under boost? ROFL!!!!

to eb safe you want 11.5-11.8 all the time...

over 12.0 and youre running to lean for these motors....

I am tuning for 11.2-11.4 across the board under 18 psi...

With the 32# injectors and the stock tune your new idle AFR is about 13.4:1 instead of 14.7:1. With my 40# it was 12.2:1. Code explained.

I see 11.4 - 11.9 afr at WOT in all gears at all speeds........

the engine responds well to those figures.....

Well considering I lose a bunch of power running richer than 11.8 and leaner than 12.5 AFRs I think tuning for 12.0 is a damn good idea. But I bet that I'm wrong...aren't I?

ok, so i took the car out tonight to try to tune it some. i unno if it was some cheap equipment i was using or what but lets just say i didnt get the tuning done... I was only seeing like a max of 6PSI boost with my hahn stage 2. which i hear is supposed to be 8 or 9. also, i started with teh brass needle 2 turns out, like it says, my fuel PSI at max boost was around 80-81PSI, so i turn the brass needle in 1 full turn. and my fuel PSI stayed at 80-81. so im still confused, am i not getting enough boost? or whats going on. i guess i should say that after i installed my turbo i still had 1/4 tank of regular gas and filled up with premium after.. so i dunno let me know.

Right before the flange for the turbo. Picks up all 4 cylinders. Gonna have another one after the turbo soon as well.
