Boost Gauge Install

I need some help. For whatever reason, my first non-working SW Boost gauge now reads 0. I thought I would plug the hose back up to it to see if it read around where it should read. It reads 7 vacuum at idle. So that's wrong.

I have put sealent around every possible leak in the system. So that leave the vacuum hose going into the gauge. From the picture below, did I have it put in there right?

It's difficult to see, but the image is expandable.

if you used sealant you mighta blocked the hose

you want a little bit of teflon paste or tape on the piece that goes on the gauge , and nothing on the piece that holds the hose

The picture looks right to me. Where do you have the line tapped into? Sounds like you have a leak somewhere though if it's only reading 7in of vacuum at idle.

You've gotten farther than me in my guage install, I haven't even started yet, lol. I'm sorry to go off topic but did you have to get any other parts for the install?

I had to get a T fitting to insert into the FPR line.

As for the sealent blocking the hose, I put the hose inside of the connectors and then covered the uncovered hose in sealant. I hope that makes sense. So I don't see how that would affect the boost/vacuum pressure.

Is it possible the gauge is out of calibration if it was reading 2 in vacuum, then magically fixed itself after a few weeks to read 0?

Maybe SW gauges are different, but I know with my A/M one I don't have that extra fitting directly to the right of the gauge itself. I just have the brass ring (similar to piece in middle) on the hose and the piece attached to the gauge (on the far right in pic).

It figures that the brand I didn't buy is easier to set up. I may end up going with Autometer if my next gauge is out of calibration. Or just scrap the whole gauge project.
