How do the stock axles hold up... Im looking at about 325 whp once my build is done and I want to know if new axles are necessary or not?
Street tires or slicks? Whats your car built for?

doubtful
Blew it up, build numbers coming soon
Truly yes they can hold, but really it comes down to how you drive. Some people have snapped axles on bone stock cars (not sure how), and others have went 12's on stock axles.

Thats quite a bit of power there cheif ...
But why not just upgrade them to be sure if you have the money to throw down a 325 WHP Jbody?
the axles on your car are the same thickness as a F-bodys i belive... CV joins might not be as strong though but its when you get things like wheel hop and you dont let off the gas that will snap axels... as well as slicks... if you run stock axels and your 1/4mile track is sticky and you have slicks on your going to snap them or have a good chance... think of it this way... would you rather your tires spin and have that as your "give point" or your tires hook up insainly hard and have your axles as the "give point"
also a LSD unit will greatly help out in saving axles...
i would say if you run street tires (still good ones so you can hook up still some what) and a LSD your axles should be fine... just ALWAYS!! back off the gas right away if you get wheel hop... i would say thats #1 killer for axles/CV joints

I plan on upgrading the axle's down the road but money is tight I already have dumped about 5 g's into this thing in the last month... I have the team green LSD insert in my tranny, im just looking to use the stock axles for a month or so while i absorb the initial money i spent on the build...
I'm really not a believer in aftermarket axles for our cars just from personal experience. Don't get me wrong here, the axles that you can buy are of great quality but I have seen people break them too. I really think 95% of the time it has more to do with the way the suspension is setup and what you are doing with it (excessive wheel hop, dropping the clutch to high, driver error, etc) that breaks axles, not the power of the motor.
I have been running the same, stock axles in my car for almost 3 years now. I use drag radials on the track and put down 300+ torque at the wheels, never had an axle break on me. The car is also a daily driver and the axles still look brand new. Frank use to run stock axles as well, he pulled his 11.4sec pass on them with full slicks. As long as your not getting a lot of wheel hop and can launch your car properly you will be fine on the street and at the track. If you do break one, go out and get one from a junk yard. Then you can take the wife/gf out to dinner that night with the money you saved, which in the long run allows you to get more parts for the car.

I snapped a stock replacement axle doing a hard (full) left turn from a dead stop at WOT.
I know it was my bad judgement that buggered it up, and not because im making 'too much power'
the LSD didn't save my axle that day, lol.
I bought a lifetime warranty axle from Part Source, so all it cost me was $12 for the tranny fluid I lost while changing it.
EDIT:
for clarification, I mushed both CV joints on the same axle (driver side)

Frank also ran a welded diff almost since he built the car. He also carried several spare axles with him every time to the track.
