ecotec turbo manifold (please Help)
Monday, July 31, 2006 5:28 PM
I know this subject has been beat to death. So i already have my flame suit on. And yes i did search lots of
times.

I need to find a place that sell manifolds for the ecotec. I will be using a t-3 60 trim.

I purchased a manifold from hrproweld and it didn't fit. I e-mailed about it not fitting and they said they would replace it for free.

And the funny part is i actually believed that they would. Because of all the e-mails i got from them.

(i should have took everyones advise and stayed away from them.)

Anyway my car has been on jack stands now for over two months. And i cant wait any longer to get this car going.

i have searched all over the net and it seems that cfnx site is down hrprowelding site is down (not that i would waste any more money)

I really don't want to use a ebay manifold and i refuse to by one from maxiumboost.

I have checked locally but i cant seem to find anyone to build me one.

IF someone has one for sale or knows where to get one please help point me in the correct direction. i just want a quality product. That i know will last i plan i having this car for a long time and doing lost to it in the future.

I would really appreciate any help i could get .

You can always try emailing or calling HAHN to see if they can do that for you. Seems like in the past few months they are willing to sell pieces. They can ad a flange for the ext WG.

I've heard that the hahn manifold doesn't use a t-3 flange but i will e-mail them and ask.

Thanks for the help.

It is for sure a T3 flange.

They have always sold the parts. Many people just didn't know it. LOL.

AFAIK....HRC does not make external wastegate accepting manifolds. You could buy one and modify it for your needs though.

They made one for Anthony Jones just recently for an ext wg. HAHN's old policy was to sell full kits only and not parts.

A. Jones is a very special case. LOL. Have you seen the car he put out? I'd "one-off" him anything he wants.

I'm sure you aren't really comfortable with buying a manifold on ebay but the two I bought were very nice. Tight squeezes, but then again I was using a fairly decent sized turbo as well. I bought the internally wastegated style first and the externally second. Unless there has been some new development on here since I left, they are fine unless you are going crazy with your project. The only downside of the externally gated manifold is the placement of the flange. Unless you make a little section of pipe with a flange on it to branch off the wastegate it won't fit due to hitting the engine. It took me about 15 minutes to measure it up and weld and grind the flange. Not a bad product for the money. I ran 8-10 psi on it for awhile and then up towards 12-13 and never had trouble with it.

cool thanks for all the help.

So is there any place else that sales manifolds other that hahn.

Also does anyone know what happened to hrprowelding. why is the site down.

And about the ebay manifold thing i dont want to have to do anything to make it fit. i don't mind to pay

i will use ebay as a last option.

Also hypse. i will be using the portfueler. i already have all my oil feed and return lines. i was wondering today if you could get my a price on just the

Manifold
intercooler and piping don't want anything else but the intercooler and piping
and the turbo set of 10psi.

I have spent way to much money already on everything to turn back now. i will sale my turbo and what other pieces i have. and just use the hahn kit. please let me know mkennedy0322@yahoo.com

thanks for all the replys. I waiting on hahn to get back with me about just purchasing the parts i need and it will be pretty much the hahn kit with portfueler.

I just so fed up with dealing with companies That are crap.(by crap i mean the company that built my manifold) I should have just purchased hahn kit to begin with, but i wanted to build my own kit just so i would know everything about it.. i have a total kit together at my house that i will most likely sale on ebay. if hahn will not sale the kit minus what i want to use of my stuff. i will have to purchase a manifold off ebay.

but thanks for all the help i got.

Why don't you just buy the stuff from me? I might even be able to save you a few dollars and your helping a fellow JBOer. I can help you with every step of the HRC kit install, seeing as how I'm had mine on and off 3 or 4 times completely now, and I can help you get it tuned up a bit.

I didn't see the part addressed to me. It was all just kind of thrown together when I first looked so I didn't pick that part out. I can get you prices on anything you want...but it's almost better to just get the entire kit if your getting the turbo, piping, and IC. At that point you only have the fuel system left unbought basically.

yea i know. But i have some parts that i feel are better than hahn uses in their kit.

Like i have a greaddy bov and t-bolt clamps, Also i had custom length oil feed and return lines.
my girdle is already taped with 1/2 ntp for my fittings. I already have the portfueler kit so i dont need any fuel mods. And sometime real soon i will be ordering ht tuners.(i know i have the portfueler but i want to change a few other things and thats the only way i can do it)
So really all i need it the turbo the intercooler withing piping and the manifold. i guess i need some of the hardware for the kit. i have 8mmx1.25 turbo bolts and i think hahn uses 10mm x something. And the hardware to install the intercooler. and a few other things.
i have a lm1 wideband a electric boost gauge from auto meter(i dont think a boost gauge comes with the kit anyway but)

as of now if i buy the kit i will have spent over 10thousand on one turbo kit on a 13 thousand car. so im considering all my options at this time.

And sorry i just put thats post together in a min i need to take more time. i an gathering a list of all the Q i have about the hahn kit and i will e-mail them to you within the next day or so.

Thanks for you help!!
