hi everyone, I just want to know if there is some poeple having problems with the stock ecotec 2.2 intake manifold when having a turbo! i'm presently running 10psi on a t25 turbo! a month ago my intake manifold explode! now today it explode again!! How much boost the intake manifold can take without breaking all the time! ??? i dont know why it explode i was on the highway at 70 MPH and bang a big hole on the left side of my intake!

Hmmm.... Dunno, i think your the only one to blow the manifold at such low boost....

thats odd. u arent spraying are you.
That is the honest to god first instance of that happening that I've heard of in 6 years. Wow.
As asked are you running nitrous or an EIC (Extra Injector setup).... could fuel be puddling in there and then finally detonating?
It takes a LOT to get through that plastic.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
How did u know? Did ur laptop light up with "danger to manifold"? And ur floor boards break loose?
Oh cmon! Its still funny!
Seriously, if ur spraying any fluids in through the manifold and it puddles, of course ur gonna have this issue. Good ole gm and their stupid ass plastic intake manifolds... "We could stick with the HO style and give the car some more power or we could make it outa plastic and make the tb point up and outa the car for some stupid reason...." Hmmmm...... Ya got me there!

i will send you picture really soon ! i'm getting the intake manifold out 2day so i'm gonne let you guy see! the funny thing is the intake blow exactly the same place the other one blow! uhm that's really strange! dont know why the make the intake made of some plastic, the best would be like the 2.3 HO intake!

I can tell you right now, that if your on stock internals its not "power thats blowing it" it's most likely bad install or leaking problem.

euhm i dont have any leaking problem and how could I installe it wrong??

what are you using for fuel?

That "plastic" intake manifold is good for 600 hp according to GM Performance so you have a major problem somewhere. I'm running 11psi no problem, so I agree with the puddling somewhere or something loose.
looks like we have a little language barrier with our canadian friend...
-SDS pour 2 injecteur
-2 injecteur supplémentaire de 390CC
Thats your problem right there steven...
Because the intake manifold loops around (it looks kind of like a seashell inside if you cut it open) the fuel that you are injecting into the throttlebody is not always making it all the way to the cylinder.... some is falling out of the airstream and pooling up at the bottom of the manifold.... eventually, either because of a backfire, or heat, or a number of other causes, the fuel vapor that builds up in the manifold explodes. THis will happen even with a metal manifold if it were the same shape as the stock one. What you really need to do is get a different tuning system such as HPTuners, or Hahn's Portfueler, to be able to run all of your injectors right near the head, where the fuel won't be able to puddle. I hope this makes sense, and if it doesn't I hope someone here speaks sufficient french to translate for me.

ohhh I had no idea you had an eic. well that makes sense.

yea maybe it's my SDS but the problem is, i'm not the only one using a SDS to tune an ecotec, maybe I run too rich! maybe euhm ! that mak sense! thx guys i will check that...

your not the only one but your one of the few.

Well that would be one problem if you are thinking that you can fit that.
Also why don't you just upgrade your stock injectors instead of adding them?
get the hahn racecraft port fueler intake set up
ive never seen a eco intake blow up , and alot of people have ran over 15psi on um
If you blew the same spot twice, that is where the fuel is puddling. Seams almost too obvious since two different manifolds blew in the same spot and only on your car.
Now you know that cylinder is being over-fueled which can cause many different problems in the future with unequal power made in each cylinder. If your tuning is dead on at the downpipe, cylinder 1 being that rich means that the other cylinders would have to be lean to get those readings.
ebay your SDS and get HPtuners.

wow that is pretty nice hole , lol
2.3 is gonna be alot of work to try and fit to the eco , plus if your still shooting fuel into the plenium , your gonna have issues still with fuel puddling
get get hahns set up and wild
or find a better than doing extra injectors , since your the only 1 that has had this issue
fck....lol..thats crazy!!
