Okay I'm assembling parts for my turbo setup. I purchased a T3 super 60 from down2turbo on eBay. It is in very nice condition but today as I was looking at it I realized that the oil feed and return openings are on the wrong sides. The drain is pointed up and the feed goes in the bottom. The first thing that comes to mind is to turn the turbo over but then the intake would have to go in the passenger side of the car and the exhaust out the drivers side which i'm pretty sure wont work. My question is can I somehow turn the center section around to solve the problem? I know that somehow you can loosen the outer sections and 'clock' the openings of the housings, but I dont know how and am wary of loosening random bolts on the turbo... Anyone else have this problem? If so all you help is appreciated.
i have the dp facing the driver side and the intake to the passenger, i had no problem, but we also have different engines, i have the ecotec
just loosen the bolts, not all the way, but enough so that it spins and then tighten back up back to as tight as it was before and you should be fine
i had to clock my turbo and thats all i did, and everything worked out!! good luck

which bolts? The ones on the inside of the compressor housing or in the center section of the turbo?
Can I do that to both sides and have the oil openings facing the proper way?
i loosened the outter bolts on my turbo... our turbos may be different though...
im not sure about your second question... i dont remember...

You want the center section oil return to face straight down.. loosten the bolts on the compressor side and clock that..
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
okay I took it loose and rotated it just like you guys said, worked great! Thanks for the advise.
However, I have another question. I have read that lots of turbos from Down2turbo use the special Mercedes downpipe flange, and not the regular T3 3-bolt downpipe flange. How do I know which one I need? Do they measure different or something?

the mercedes is smaller then the regular ford 5 bolt flange, which I still have 1 extra of.

do a search for mercedes flange. I basically have the only post regarding this. Theres a link in my thread that leads to a website where you can purchase or just figure out what you need.
I think the I/D of the exhaust housing was like, 2.45 inches.
Well it is internally gated and has a 5 bolt flange on it but it has an adapter to make it a 3bolt flange which includes the wastegate dump...so does that make it the mercedes because it is a 3-bolt?
