I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on how they wired in their Innovate LM 1 wideband unit. I am sick of having to turn the thing on everytime I start my car. After reading their manual, they talked of wiring a realy into a switched 12V source from the starter solenoid. Does anyone know what type of relay that would be or what wire would be best to use?
Any suggestions or experiences with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

you need a relay that prevents electricity from getting through to the lm-1 while the car is starting, then once it is started 12v power going through to the unit. The 12v source needs to come from the ignition so that it does turn off when the car is off.
the reason for the relay is so that an extra surge of power that can occur when starting the car does not toast the lm-1 unit.
as far as relay model numbers I dont know. Your best bet would be to go into a Radio Shack or similar store and tell them the details of what you want it to do.

Just tap your accessory wire under the dash, its the orange wire in the ignition harness.

I don't know much about buying relays. Do I buy one with a certain amount of lag from once the relay receives power? I basicallyl need something that will turn the LM1 on AFTER the engine has fired. I'm really not the greatest with wiring so any suggestions would be helpful as to what type is needed.
