Quick Question about vac lines
Wednesday, July 26, 2006 4:48 PM
So ive done a quick search by typing in vac lines and have read every topic that has came up and looked through everyone of them and couldn't find the answer.

I just recently got my gm supercharger install on my 01 Z and i noticed that they hooked things up wrong....my line from my FPR was goin to the HVAC port on the TB. so i looked through the directions to see if anything else was wrong because i took the line from the FPR and pluged it into the right port (left side of charger) and took the line from there and pluged that in the HVAC Port on the TB....thinkin they just switched them up.....alls i want to know is where the line coming off the HVAC Port is suposed to plug into so i can make sure that it is in the right spot also....

im also seeing 20vac at idle but when im drivin its at 25vac......i don't understand this thats why i want me make sure the line is in the right spot...because any time i push in the clutch it goes back to 20 and when i let it back out in gear it goes to 25 till i give it gas

ok . this might help.

from the little port nipple thing on the pulley side of the s/c. that line goes to the FPR and you T' off that to your boost guage.

on the throttle body- one line goes to the EVAP, one is your climate controls, one nipple is plugged, and the other is the big brake booster tube.

that is the correct way.

nah doesn't really help i do have the fpr line hooked up right and boost gauge tapped into that......what i need to know is on the TB under the capped off one bottom left of the throttle body that hook up there where is that vac line suposed to go to (pics would help out greatly and be greatly appreciated) in the instrutions it doesn't tell u where to hook it because it prolly goes where it went b4 the supercharger but since the dealship messed it up i don't know where it should go

I know exactly whicjh one you're talking about, it's coming out of the wiring harness right? I have no idea where it goes either, i just didn't hook it up.....I don't even have my HVAC on my throttle body, i took my a/c out whn i installed the charger, i don't ever use the a/c anyways, but i do use the heat and that works so i don't care....

well i dunno cuz i still don't understand y i would be runnin 25 vac while moving and then 20 when i push in the clutch....what does everyone else's gauge read....is it suposed to be like that.......i would think maybe a pinched line but it still goes back to 20 when i push in the clutch or maybe its from the charger makin it think it needs more vac....i have no idea
