I am turboing my car and I want to run around 300whp so I know now with all of the ecotec motors blowing and such that I will need to build my bottom end up. I have bought the eagle connecting rods for my 2.2L ecotec but I am not sure which compression of pistons I should buy. I am going to buy the Wiesco Forged Pistons but not sure wheather to buy 10.1:1 or 8.9:1. Also is there any better pistons I should be considering before buying these pistons.
Also what size injectors do u guys recomend as well. I have been told to with 440cc = around 40lbs injectors. Does this seem to much or to little let me know which size i should be going with and which kinds i should consider? Thanks for the help and yes I have searched but I want to make sure I get the proper products. Thanks in advance.
nice good luck turbo i would go 8.9:1that way you could build it up more and not worry about another set of pistons and they are the base of almost all bosted cars. 10:1 is normally what supercharger guys put in becuase they have a limit to their boost. As long as you have a good tune either could go to about 20 psi 8.9:1 is just added stabilitie above that.
really it depends on your abilitly to tune an engine, if you plan on doing just an FMU and bigger injectors for fuel mangement i'd get 8.9:1 but if you planning on going with some standalone, you can make safe boost with 10:1 and still make your 300hp mark very easily
I looked into this a while back, and ended up buying the 8.9:1 Wiseco's.
Now they are for sale as I've had some health realated issues come up that need to be taken care of. E-mail or PM me if you are interested. [/shameless plug]
