Turbo on a 96 Cavalier w/2.2l ?
Monday, July 10, 2006 10:11 AM
Hey all,
I am looking to put a turbo on my 96 Cavalier w/ a 2.2l Motor (Stock) .
I was looking at getting a manifold of ebay for like 165 .
I have a T25 Turbo off my old 88 Dodge daytona and a monster Intercooler .
My only question is with my motor being stock do I need Injectors and or a reprogram of my computer .
I dont know much about turbo's but I would think that the car with a turbo would need to dump more fuel then one with out .

If anyone out there has done this before please let me know ,what you belive I need to know.

Thanks for your time

Monster intercooler + small turbo = disappointment.

If you are going to use a tiny turbo, get a smaller intercooler.

Unless you swap to a 97 PCM, you can't reprogram your computer. Fueling will also be a problem, since you can't just swap out your injectors, you need to add additional injectors or do a top feed conversion.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!

AEM makes an external injector driver box which makes the Saturn injectors a viable option.

and i believe all the manifolds on ebay are for a t3 type turbo...so a t25 won't work. nor be effiecent
