With the use of a turbo, the exhaust is quieted down correct? Yes.
What about with a supercharger? More exhaust velocity could equal less noise. But I could also see more velocity equalling more noise.
Any experience with this?

I've heard of that on diesel trucks before, but they get smaller exhaust to make things more "raspy"

Anybody's exhaust tone or sound level change after a supercharger was added? How?
Well, the difference between a turbo and a supercharger is the turbo is part of the exhaust whereas the supercharger is not.
