well tonight im actually going to order the alky injection kit since i have over a grand saved up and wondering if when you guys with the 2.6 pulleys installed the kit on your car if it was a noticable "seat dyno" differance as far as how hard the car pulls (i cant really depend on my gauge since autometers suck and it broke), i wanna order HPT over the alky kit but i think i need to get this first and go from there.
So this is basically what i wanna know:
Will the car pull harder in the day as hard as it does at night when its cool out?
Is there a noticable differance in how it pulls?
Anything else i should be aware of that i didnt mention.

for me the car is night and day....
like when its cool in the morning and how hard it pulls, mine does that even when its hot out and then when it cools off later in the day it pulls liked a raped ape
at the same time i changed my air intake as well and i think that helped for fighting heat soak but i still say the alky injection is almost a must have when dropping pulley sizes
have you ever just gave it alot of gas when it wasnt fully warmed up? like not right away after a cold start but soon after? and feel how hard it pulls (with smaller pulleys im talking about) well imagine more of a pull than that, but all the time... it never gets the felling that your getting slower and slower...

heck ya. i am on the stock pulley and a m4 injector. i used to have a m2. with that i didnt notice much. but with the m4 it was a great upgrade. s/c is cold after a few hard runs.
the more you stay in it the more it pulls i feel. lately i noticed the last 1000 rpms (5-6k) it really pulls hard. cams help too, but it used to just kinda fall not accelerate hard past that like it does now.
i feel safer boosting with it spraying too. as i am on the stock injectors, walbro pump and a cartech FMU. so i am not sure my a/f ratio. the water injection i think really woke this car up. ( 60% distilled water/ 40% yellow bottle heet ). i have mine come on at 2psi, or 3, i forget, i think 3.
need anything just ask. but you can find alot of info by searching and reading through past topics.
it will keep my s/c cool during the burnt out and the whole 1/4 pass
mine comes on at 1-1 1/2 psi
i ordered from coolingmist.com yesterday, got their new kit which comes with a better pump (black pump) and the m5 injector, the m4's he said arnt as good or something, should be here no later than thursday then ill try to hit the track friday if i can install it by then and try to dip into the 13.90's with all charger, THEN ill spray it with my nitrous kit after HPT is ordered (next week) and try to dip into high 12's tuned for the 80 shot, id really like to see a low 13 on the 65 shot though and i would still be happy.
take note, i still need to get some drag radials and my suspension is 100% stock, so ill need to order that as well. about how many tenths did you guys drop with just adding the alky injection, im guessing a good 2 maybe?

i ordered the same kit a few weeks ago, everything worked out great, and it dropped my iat's by like 20-30 degree's and eliminated all knock... i have it kicking in at around 5psi, and i am running 10psi non-intercooled
so once i get the intercooler, and turn up the boost to 13-15 i hope to hit low 13's as well.... we'll see!
I ran 14.4 at 5psi, and 14.0 with water/meth injection at 8/9 psi....i can get a 13.9 i think, but i need a good tune, right now its horrible... my a.f's suck (starts in mid to low 11's and drops to high to mid 10's in higher rpms), and i need to figure out how to get my tranny to shift like a man (i have an automatic

Ok so i see we're having luck with alky, i'm sc'ng a 2.2L with an M90, and my question is, im on a budget any patch together kits out there?
I dont see the point in spending the cash for a aquamist, when i read the dsm guys doing budget alky installs. I dunno, anyway. I noted on post above, where someone was running 10psi on alky minus an innercooler. Does that mean you can run aky/water up to 10psi, or is that where you feel safest taking it.
Also, the innercooler i have available for free is off a stock dsm, does anyone know if these are any good?

thanks guys, the kit should be here thursday as i said, i cant wait, i was messing with this mr2 non-turbo yesterday, it was like 89 degrees out and my car crept to 70 mph it seemed, i told my buddy "i need the alky injection now!" haha

most winter wash fluid is almost a 50/50 mix of water and methanol and apparently works great right out of the bottle. myself i add abit more methanol to it to make it a true 50/50.
i am running straight windsheild washer fluid... it is a -20f blue solution that has no bubbles when you shake it.... the name brand is valuecraft... its 30% meth and 70% water
it has been working good. But i bought a 5 gallon drum of methonal the other day... i am going to be using a 50/50 split at the track from now on...
i have the cooling mist kit, it was about 200/250 for the 150psi kit... with the black pump...

Oh yes, makes a big difference! I finally got my alcohol injection kit up and running yesterday and it definately cools things down a lot. Usually, my charger will get pretty damn hot after a boost-happy drive and the intake tube will be noticably warm as well.
Well, after installing the kit the intake tube was ice cold and the charger was cool, not warm at all, after a boost-happy drive.
my hpt scanning showed an instant 20 to 30 degree plus drop in temps as soon as the water injection kicked in... but that was non-intercooled... im not sure how effective it is on non intercooled applications

well according to you post, a non-intercooled engine would see a 20 to 30 degree drop in temp with the injection.

You shouldn't expect the same drop with an intercolled setup as the air is already cooler than a non intercooled setup. However the drop should still be significant.
