need some help here!

ok me and a friend are at sword edge so to say about this. Im making a show car but still want to be able to have my fun on the road. So i plan on boosting my 2200. now to me a turbo looks discolored and doesn't apeal to the eye when you have a polished vc, intake and such in there. so i thought of a way to mount the turbo to the end of a 4-2-1 pace setter polished armor coated header. He brings up the point that i will loose exhaust velocity doing it this way. I say it will funchion the same as a turbo manifold. Who be right?

That would be different, but if you did it. I'd imagine that there'd be a lot more turbo lag because of the header.

Why dont you polish the turbo and get the manifold dipped as well.

why not get a ceramic coated and polished turbo ??

my friends still looks new and he has put some miles on it

or you can do what mr pute just did (refer to his post in photos and media) and do a rear mount turbo setup

Word.

But if you do actually mount a turbo on the bottom of your header you will be a scavenging pump for the oil return due to the low mounting position.

You got an answer. It would work but it needs a scavanging pump. I don't think there is enough room to even mount a turbo down there anyway. If you can get it to work, that header is not going to be thick enough to hold up the turbo through vibrations while glowing red. You will then need unsightly bracings to hold the turbo up and take stress off teh header.
It would be MUCH better to ceramic coat it all and polish the compressor and make a show worthy turbo set-up because half-assed show cars don't go anywhere.

hey guys....

i think this idea is very doable but not the best way to go for what your looking for man.....i am at my last steps in my setup as we speak of installing a turbonetics fully polished T3/T04E turbo on my 2.4 along with the Jtuners manifold which is jet-hot coated......i also installed an AEM full stadalone engine management system .....i think its going to look good. just finished my charge pipes tonight that will be painted silver and clear coated along with turbonetics couplers and stainless t-bolt clamps....should look nice just been a long week....the car has sat for a month now cause i sold my vortec blower and decided i am going turbo "everyone loves a turbo" so yeah its getting very close, hoping to crank it over first withough my turbo hooked up so we can make sure the standalone is talking to the engine... but ya turbo is arriving from CA tomorrow, turbonetics somehow delayed my shipping with the holiday but luckily i bought throw dealer so he is over night shipping it so its here in the morning.. but ya definately go with a regular manifold just coated and get a turbo with a polished compressor housing and it will look awesome.... good luck man.. any questions let me know and hoping you get boooooosted soon haha.... its a glorious feeling....
