GM ECO reflash questions
Monday, July 03, 2006 8:12 PM
I am looking at gettin the GM ECO SC kit and i read you would need to reflash the ecu. I was just wondering if anybody knew if it removed / raised rev limiter and top speed limiter or if all it did was adjusted fuel to accomodate boosting. Also couldn't the same thing be done by sending your ecu to JET performance and getting it reflashed there? At least there i know they WOULD raise limiters, cause i know how GM can be with crap like that.

As far as I know, the GM reflash does not raise the rev limiter or move the speed governer. Also, you cannot tune the reflash because it's locked.

100% same as stock

only fuel maping , map readings and timing change

dont waste your money with jet , they are useless

Well then does anyone know how i can get the rev limiter / speed governer raised cause i hope that by the time i am done with my car i will be able to hit 1/4 mile trap speeds of more than 108mph. There has to be some way to get them changed.

^^The HP tuners will not work with the eco reflash. You have two choices, get the reflash, and then hope you never break the 108 barrier (right now the close eco is Airtonics who was pulling 13.9 at 104 but admits to possibly hitting the governor. of course he is ruuning a 2.8 pulley and a emanage piggyback on his car).

OR

Get the HP tuners, try and figure out the maps to make it work and hope you do it right spending lots of tuning time on the car. This also voids the warranty on the SC kit (if you are worried about this) and all of this has been discussed before.
