there's a 1/4"NPT hole on the back of the block right above the oil filter.

it 'should' use a 1/4 drive square head to pull it out. (just a 1/4 drive rachet and extension, no socket required)

autometer provides a 1/4"NPT male to 1/8"NPT female fitting for our application.

It's easier to get to if you pull the intake manifold. I've never done it on a 98+ though...'02 would want to pull the ECM for sure.
Nate (C22t/C24na) used to have a good pic of the plug in his reg, but took it down a while ago (luckily I saved it).
right is up:

I also found a pic of Tony's manifold if anyone is interested.

no, you dont need to.. all the oil should scavenge back to the pain minus some residual oil.

do it when the engine is cold

also, if you've got a 5spd its pretty easy to jack the car up and get back there from underneath.

I was just there today fitting up my oil pressure/turbo feed line

good luck.

if your car is auto it is also easy to get to by removing your exhaust before the cat..... you have a very convenient hole from where a 2.4/2.3 exhaust would normally come from that you can get up into.

just went outside.......

found the plug in like 2 seconds (just crawled under the car, got it out with ease.......

taped the fittings and installed it ..... (I had the gauge and line already run .... just not tapped).......

took 15 minutes...... running at cold start up 62.5psi oil pressure.... (block pressure)

thanks STEVE !!! YOU ROCK !!

how long have you been boosted? any problems?

I should take a picture of my setup, it'd be interesting to compare.

I plan to use that same port for my turbo feed, but i have my oil pressure gauge off the same spot that the oil pressure stock sender unit is at. it's the the left of the oil filter.
Pic: see the breass fitting? i used that.
