Injectors Way To Big

I bought some 440cc from marren fuel injection for my 2000 2.4L. running @ 6psi. I was told this was a good size to get until i put them in and flooded my engine with fuel. Did i do anything wrong or was i wrong in getting 440's. Any help would be nice

thanks all

if your only running 6psi 310cc is just fine, 440 is way overkill

note the part number on the 2.4 kit GM 310cc supercharger injectors are actually ROCHESTER injectors p/n 25166922

You can find them here

up the boost to 10 psi and the 440s can be adjusted down with a adj fpr. I have them and they work fine but if you plan on staying at 6 psi which I would not know why you would want to do that, then they are overkill yes.

just buy a stand alone and run 1000cc's never havve to upgrade injectors again no matter what set up pretty much.

well you can tune your car for that some what with HP tuners... but 370's might have been a better choice... 310cc injectors will work to, but on a turbo 6psi is still getting close to the max on 310cc injectors...

They should not flood out your car. Was this at idle? What is your set-up? FMU? adjustable? AFPR?

Like John said, are you using anything to drop your base pressure? That's probably your problem.

Blew it up, build numbers coming soon

shouldnt you be able to tune with HP tuners and fix this? you shouldnt need a AFPR or any thing.... it should all be all adjustable from the stock computer

I've been running 440's since june of last year...

before HPTuners... this was the fuel setup

Walbro intank
440cc injectors
Caspers AFPR
GM S/C reflash
Apex'i S-AFC

the reflash allowed the car to idle somewhat, the S-AFC we used to tune down the injectors, and the AFPR just got the idle fine tuned, we got 11.8-12.1 A/F on the wideband with that setup..

w/ the HPTuners setup we ditched the Apex'i S-AFC, and put the fuel pressure back to what the GM book says, recalibrated on the HPTuners, flashed it, good to go. Only issue is the pesky speed limiter is limiting our ability to push the motor.

-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party

On my own Turbo car I had 370cc injectors with stock FPR and it would run and idle, just a little chopy. With a adjust FPR that was controlled. Are you sure the FMU is hooked up correctly? For idle running they should idle, just crappy. HPTuners you should be able to smooth it out nicely.

The reason you flooded is because you have a 2000 Cavy with high impedance set up and the injectors are low impedance, that is why they are flooding.
Happened to me too.
Just get a resistor box or make one like I did.

It will work fine.
I am using 650cc injectors right now.
