Eco Charger finally installed
Monday, May 22, 2006 5:49 PM
Installed the Charger this weekend, and had it reflashed today, but when I was on the way home the engine light came on, I had it scanned and it read IAT sensor, but with the new wire harness the IAT doesn't hook into the intake anymore, I don't know what the issue could be, has anybody had this problem? Any help would be great, Thanks, Josh

I would put pictures up, but I it won't let me, it says my pictures are too big, if someone could tell me how I can post, I will post them.

I'm pretty sure, the only thing I can think of, is that the new metal connectors on the IAT may have come off, but i'm sure I crimped them right.

I have the exact same problem, the check engine light is on because of the IAT Sensor, I have no idea how to fix it. Its driving me crazy!

My new harness was wired backwards. Double check that first.

I am still questioning this 50 state legal thing because when I installed mine there was this huge sticker that said it was for off road use only. (not sure why not like it makes the car have that much worse emissions and it isn't blazing fast).

So, so far the only solution is to check our wiring harness and see if its backwards. Thats not TOO bad, I guess.....

was the sticker on the charger it self? I dont think the parts are made by GM. so when the charger is shiped its not legal but as a kit by GM it probably passed what ever emmissons it had to.

It's only CARB legal if you do the reflash. There is an off road sticker which likely comes from Magnusson, but it comes with the CARB sticker too.

I was always under the impression that unless there is a CARB sticker on the charger then it would not be legal.

I have not seen the charger out of the box yet to see if it even comes with a CARB sticker or not so I really cant comment much on that.

Chad, did you get the sticker or was there any paper work it said legal in CA? Just wondering.....

Thanks.

there is a CARB sticker in the box with the kit

the whole kit is legal in cali for 02-05 , as per the info on CARb's site - http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/aftermktqry.php

chad(or anyone) post the CARB , so they can enter on the site i posted

The SC has a part # and the CARB sticker references that part #.

info from carb's site

12593807 2002 through 2005 model year General Motors Cavalier and Sunfire vehicles equipped with a 2.2L engine The Super Charger includes the following main parts: A new intake manifold assembly that contains an Eaton M-62 supercharger assembly, a set of 4.35 grams/sec fuel injectors to replace the stock injectors (3.3 grams/sec), and a new fuel calibration that is downloaded onto the stock ECU. The Super Charger supercharger kit utilizes a 3.3 inch diameter pulley, and the stock crankshaft pulley is retained. The throttle body and the mass airflow sensor are relocated to the inlet housing of the supercharger. The stock manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor and intake air temperature (IAT) sensor are replaced with a new combined MAP and IAT sensor. Maximum boost produced by the supercharger is 10 PSI.
