Okay, I'm very close to getting a supercharger, and i'm disappointed to here about people running 15's in the 1/4 on a stock setup....i have a crank pulley, exhaust and an intake, and my best run was a 15.3 in the 1/4. I'm wanting to know what was everyones favorite upgrade for there Boosted LD9 as far as maybe a throttle body, or whatever, what was the best upgrade for the buck? Rather than Alky injection, cause i don't want to do that....lol.

well i have the rsm 59mm TB and it gives you more top end and it sucks more air in and you can hear it, everytime i hit the gas i hear it sucking air in really loud. youll most likely only run a high 14 or so if you go with the stock 2.8 gm s/c pulley cause its only making 4.5psi of boost, if you wanna make some decent power off the gm s/c itself your gonna need to do alky injection i think, im using nitrous right now so it kinda replacing the alky injection for now which ill be ordering soon and gives me alittle boost as well cause its nitrous. im running high 13's on just a 35 shot with stock 4.5 psi of boost and thats not even hooking up so i think my setup is a decent example as to what the 2.4 gm s/c can do and will do in the future aka this summer. i havent ran it with the 2.6 pulley and my 50 shot yet
I would say my cold air intake was my favorite up grade... just a 90 degree elbow down from the throttle body with a filter on the end... sat just slightly higher then the black air deflector or what ever that is under the car... VERY loud supercharger noices and nice cold air.... i personaly felt a nice slight gain in power just from this
The First Twin Charged jbody
blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
ahh yes JuggaloZeke reminded me of the alcohol... athough i only ran if for about a week it was definatly fun to have

my most favorite was the pacesetter header - i thought it opened up a LOT of power.....

I have a question if he has a underdrive crank pulley isn't he lossing some boost? I thought that underdrives lowered the overall boost on superchargers?
~Boost. Its what's for dinner!~
The larger the crank pulley with a charger, the more boost you will get.
* all the above for me. i am still on the stock s/c pulley though.
crank pulet wont do you any good unless is stock size and lighter or larger diameter than stock
my auto 2.4 runs mid to low 14's
i liked my header upgrade, 2.5" exhaust helped too.
14.82 @ 97 mph
And... the more air you allow in, the less boost you will see, which is still good in a sense because it is just being used more effectively.
^^that theory doesn't really hold water. allow more air in, you'll see less boost?? unless i force feed my superhcarger i can't realy get more air and my boost on a stock pulley is staying right at 6psi. hasn't changed since adding header and zaust and cams etc et etc. not even running alky yet either. i have the smaller pulley's and they'll be going on when my alky kit gets installed.
So, since i've got a smaller crank pulley, would anyone suggest me getting a smaller supercharger pulley? Also, if i do get a smaller S/C pulley do i have to get alky injection? It seems as nobody wants to get a smaller pulley until they get the injection kit...why is this? I was thinking about getting the RK sport header from Gravana, does anyone know if this is a good header for a boosted engine? I had the OBX header at one time, i never did put it on, i just sold it, because i was coming overseas, and wouldn't have the time to put it on. The guy i sold it to emailed me and told me it wouldn't fit, he said it ran straight into the firewall, has anyone else had any problems?

you have to use the stock size crank pulley.
look into the pacesetter header, probably cheaper then the RK one..
alky injection- look at sites like www.coolingmist.com www.enginerunup.com, www.devilsown.com.

This is kinda backwards and poorly worded.
If you can get more air in, you'll see more boost. The blower basically takes what it sucks in and then pushes it into the engine. If you've got a restrictive intake then it won't get as much air and won't make as much boost.
I think what you meant to say is that if your exhaust flows better so your engine can consume more air, you'll see less boost but get more power.
This doesn't work like a turbo. There's no valve holding pressure at a certain level so if you make your engine more efficient by adding a better flowing exhaust or other mods, then you'll see your boost levels drop but this is not a bad thing.
As I said... the blower takes the air it can get and then pushes it into the engine. It's pushing a fixed volume of air so if the engine can consume more, less will pressure will be generated in the manifold.
i remember a guy here with a ported head and the gm s/c and he was seeing less boost.

Sounds right. If the engine flows better, you'll get less pressure build-up and, thus, less boost. More power though since you're consuming more air.
