if you wnat to waste your money for peice of mind sure.
we put a ssautchrome core (of all companys lol) on my buddys talon and had it tested it had 1 psi of pressure drop. and it cools really well, i have a really cool infared picture of it somwere were the hot side is red ass @!#$ and you can see how it cooled really quick through the ic.
Johny race car intercoolers can be found on ebay as well... or even homemadeturbo.com i see them often on there... for the price you definatly get your moneys worth and then some... you can go spend $400+ U.S on one or spend $225 cdn like i did when i bought my JRC one and yea sure the 400+ one will probably suport more power or what ever else but for the little bit that 90% of the jbody croud will need it for the JRC ones are MORE then enough...

Max length would be 31-32" long
Max hight would be 6" tall on stock bumper
Thickness i went 3" but im sure you could get away with even 4" if you find on that thick...
what you guys think bout this for ideal intercooler size for to fit behind a 2002 z24 w/lip kit front bumper
unless your planning on going with insane amounts of power (like 500 plus) youdont need anything insane. ideal would probably be somethign like 28 to 31 wide, 6 to 8 tall and 3 inches thick.

How about giving a reason? There are nothing wrong with their intercoolers. Bar and plate design just like all the others. Their bad reputation came from their garbage turbo seals and supposedly that have a new design now and their turbos are actually doing better. And intercooler is an intercooler.
Blew it up, build numbers coming soon
I have never ever seen a complaint with an SSautochrome intercooler. Cores are all the same thing... They use bar and plate and the end tanks are usually cast and welded, they don't heat up like turbo manifolds do so they wont crack... what is the deal?

There is no deal. Just people regurgitating information they've heard.

exactly. you can mess up an ic though, some have a butt load of pressure drop, but ive seen nothing but good things on these though. people need to stop making uneducted responses.
pressure drop is all in size and design. SS uses bar and plate designs in almost any size you can dream up. Pressure drop is all on you.

yes it is. every ic ive ever seen has both a size and a design, so i guess every ic can possibly have a ton of pressure drop right? i was just saying you can screw up an intercooler.

Alright like you said an intercooler is an intercooler. But, would you buy again from a company that sold you a @!#$ty turbo? What would that leave you thinking about their other products?Would you go right back to them and buy an intercooler?
Yes I would, you should have did your homework before you bought a turbo from them. Do your homework with the coolers and you will find out that they work fine.

they may work fine and all but how many places will you get a deal like a Johny race car one? i have YET! to find any one at such a low price that works just as good as any out there... i talked to a local tuner shop that has made many twin turbo kits for corvettes to a chevy Tahoe and all say the Bar and Plate style even though it does work slightly better then the conventional tube and fin is WAY over rated... espesially for the boost and hp numbers 90% of cars are doing... i have never seen 1 complain about a Johny race car intercooler yet... and yes they he shipps to canada... i live in canada and got one shipped to me from them...

Had no need to buy a turbo from them as my car is factory boosted. But read about others' misfortunes dealing with them.
