pics of new turbo test fitment

Just a quick test fit tonight since I had to check the clearence of a log manifold for someone. I honestly didn't think this thing would have a problem fitting till we actaully tried it on Ragin_Z's car. Turns out I wanted to run the compressor on the passenger side to make charge piping a little less of a hassle. That option was shattered when I found out that it would only fit one way. And that was putting the compressor on the driver's side. Always the option to push the firewall back a few inches, but I don't think i will have to do that. I'm going to try and make a miniram for my car, which would sit the turbo probably 4 or so inches lower than a log, giving me more space for the turbo fitment since the lower you go, the farther back the firewall sits. Anyway, just a test fit to see if it would actually fit. Answer: sorta

Why are you gonna be a bitch?? You obviouslly ain't winning no shows so dent that firewall in, like I did. lol
Bad ass Turbo man, I have had mine on since Easter since I told you about bad ass deal I got with the local shop here, and ran it at 20+ psi since and without air filter, not a hair of shaft play, my 57 trim took a crap after 10 dyno passes at 15+ psi, but it was also a Garrett small shaft and 2+ years old.
Did you get a warranty with it??
Also tell me how that divided housing works out for you, heard some good stuff about it, but I forgot what I heard about it.
And I also wanted a V band you basterd and the only way was with the T4 housing so I said screw that I didn't feel like changing the damn manni.

P.S you will love the sound the Turbo makes even at 0 psi it sounds like a semi truck, never heard any shaft Turbos sound like that. Only balls and dual balls.

Good luck spooling the is it 68 or 82 A/R, they are pretty good about spooling but laggy till about 10-12 psi.
I had my boost controler up all the way the other day to see if the Turbo will make over 25 psi, it was slow till about 10-12 and then it spooled up to 30 psi in a fraction of a second. By the time I let off gas pedal I was at 30. lol Ups.
Good luck with that monster.
I used a dead blow on the fire wall it works quiet nice in the case you go that way, so you can run a 4-5 inch filter on it.

Its a t61. No warrenty, but it's been used for a total of like 10 minuytes before a sohc honda owner realized he could only spool 2psi with it. Its a t4 exhaust housing yes, with a .84 a/r. I know thats gonna be too big for me so I just ordered up a .68 a/r exhaust housing. Should spool by 3800-4000 with the cams and ported head. Thats what I am hoping for at least. I can always raise the rev limit a little bit to make up for the added spool time.

As I just sent you on AIM I could have told you that was the only way that turbo was going to fit, sadly. The compressor side sticks out juuust enough to screw you. As I've said to others, if you want to run a large A/R turbo like that you more than likely need the T3 flange offset to the driver's or Passenger side depending on which way you want to fit the compressor side... imagine it was centered! You'd be screwed!

How hard was it to fit that compressor between the firewall and motor? I had to develop a perfect pattern of turning mine sideways and upside down just to fit it back there without scratching the firewall to all hell...

.70 a/r is great but boy does it have its fitment downfalls.

holy @!#$, thats a mother of a turbo.

anyone else running something that big on their LD9's? When did they see boost?

looks great, though.

Me... fitment can be a bit of a chore... everybody knows my spoolup and boost threshold points I think.

Mind you mine's not a full T04.
