I searched but didn't come up with anything....
I'm about to install injectors in my ecotec and I'm wondering if anyone out there has got detailed instructions as to how it's done. They're Saab green tops.
get some towels to soak up the gas.
take the rail off.
pop the injector clips off with a flat head.
pull the injectors out.
put the new ones in.
put the clips on.
put the rail back on.
its not hard, just go at it; you'll get it. if you can change your oil you can change your fuel injectors.
do you have the injector spacers?
I don't I'll need the spacers, it's been done before I think it was Snowman who got it to work.
A few more questions...
Does the intake manifold need to come off?
Once I unbolt the fuel rail correct me if I'm mistaken but won't the fuel line still be attached and if so am I going to be able to twist the rail upwards in order to remove the injectors.
Does the FPR need to be removed?
PS Thanks for the speedy delivery Paco
just remove the 2 rail bolts and the bracket holding the lines near the side of the cam cover
thats it
its really very easy, you can do it

If you can somehow install those injectors and have the fuel rail bolt up to the head without the spacer please inform me.

the injectiors have 2 slits for the clip one that has it far into the rail and one thta has it far out fo the rail (best explanation) put it in the latter and they bolt RIGHT up...

Hey buddy, changing the injectors is pretty simple. The manifold doesnt need to come off, neither does the pressure regulator. A tip though, take the gas cap off and leave it for about 10 minutes before removing the injectors, it relives some of the pressure from the fuel lines.

or take the fuel pump relay out and crank the motor a few times

Hey,
Im actually marks bro and we've successfully installed the injectors today however not without running into one small problem. For the first start up, the car did hesistate for like 2 seconds but than idled perfectly. Now, after numreous start ups and a long drive his CEL light came on. We dont have a scanner but were kinda wandering what may have caused this, the car was idling perfectly before. Any help is appreciated
Thanks,
Sam
make sure everything is plugged back in for starters.
one possibility is that it could be the o2 is reading rich. take it to advanced and get them to read the cel.
Like my brother was saying the install went well however, I'm running rich...I know this because my car smells like an old V8 when it's idling. My car is also in closed loop I think, as it's idling slightly over the 1k mark and remains there constant.
I think I'm going to need a AFPR for starters.
...and just to reitterate the SAAB Green top injectors DO work on the 2003 fuel rail WITHOUT any modification.
Bring it by Racetech, We can scan it for ya.
Cool, I'll try and swing by tomorrow....
Thanks Darren
