Does anyone know what it would take to convert a 2.0 liter sohc non-turbo to a 2.0 liter sohc turbo. Can you just take the turbo and manifold off a sunbird GT and drill and tap a oil line hole or are the engine internals different?
Thats a good question,I`d like to know also,I own two turbo buicks,a 84 and a 87,and internally they ARE different than a standard 3.8L.For one thing the cranks are stronger as are the rods, and the blocks have the oil drain back hole in them, but as for the 2.0L pontiacs ,I dont know,,can someone chime in here that knows-----Jack
the internals are different. I have a set of the forged 2.0 turo pistons laying around as well as a complete 2.0 turbo bottom end if you are interested.

They're different, yeah. Doesn't mean you can't turbocharge the NA engine. But you have to know what you're doing with regards to tuning and you'll be limited in the final power output by the strength of the internal components.
