Okay heres the story, I bought my engine from a guy named Eric Beckens in North Carolina. He said it had JE forged aluminum pistons, .020 over bore and eagle H beam rods. He also said it was balanced and had the secret cam swap. HOWEVER, he said it was well built turned out to be wrong, I tore it all down and rebuilt it myself. The main reason for my suspision was because there was no lower main seal, it was just RTV sealer and there was no real gasket.
I question that it has the cam swap, any way to tell? It idles differently but this may be because the aftermarket internals.
So parts list I know it has after I rebuilt it-
Eagle H Beam Rods
JE Forged Aluminum Pistons
.020 over bore
all new timing stuff (tensioner, guides, chain)
Questionable thing is the cam swap any way to tell?
Either way even if it doesnt have the cam swap I think I got a good deal, $1,000 for the whole engine, centerforce stage 2 clutch flywheel and pressure plate, RK sport header and a 5 speed tranny with 51K on it.
I would just like to know signs of the HO swap.
Thanks
Chris

I believe you have to weld a raccier or something in to your head to run the 2.3 exhaust cam on a 2.4l... i could be wrong though
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you
are there any casting marks/numbers on the cams.......i thought there was but the last swap i did was last year and i cant be positive if there were casting numbers or anything on them of that nature
I think the word the gentleman before was searching for was a reluctor wheel... for the cam position sensor to read off of..
The secret cams can only be measured Chris...
