better

Hope to install the 3.0 tomorrow or sat morning. Track day is on saturday
If I have time and the injectors will support it, the 2.8 will go on.

I wonder what you would have to modify to the gm kit to support either a 3.0 or 2.8 pulley

Hopefully my puller from zzperformance gets here soon. I want to put on my 3.0 pulley. I just got a press on one that looks like the factory one... No bling for me

well gm uses a pcm reflash and larger injectors on the 2.0 motor for the 3.0 pulley

they go from the 36lb to 42lb injectors

hmmm sucks but oh well....

I wonder what kind of whp numbers we'll see with smaller pullied s/c'd ecos...

Let's say Airtonics is probably around 230 whp now, what will he be at with the smaller pulley ? Around 250 whp ? I wonder what the limits of the s/c are...

as long as the airfuel ratio stays good there shouldnt be to much problem

a 2.8 pulley is around 17-18 psi , and in that psi range the cobalts are around 270-280whp , when tuned

the 3.0 is 14-15psi

i know alot of the cobalt/redline guys have talked about less traction , but have alot more fun

lol

you should enjoy the upgrade alot

I wonder if the fact that gm offers a reflash for the cobalt ss once you get the stage two upgrade means that us eco charged cavs/sunfires will also need additional means of tuning besides the reflash included in the kit when we upgrade to smaller pulleys...

It would be super cool if we could simply change the pulley and get proper injectors, and the reflash was able to handle it...

well, jon has emanage, so as long as his injectors can keep up all he has to do is tweak the fuel/ignition maps a bit. Now, I don't have any evidence to back this up right now, but i would THINK that the Eco S/C reflash will give normally "closed loop only" ecu's like the 04-05's an open loop program.... which would mean that you could use a piggyback to tweak from there for a smaller pulley, or of course there's HPTuners... which, in all seriousness, would eliminate the need for the GM reflash in my mind, unless you wanted to base your tune off of that, instead of starting from scratch.

Ryan,

Stock pulley was 3.34 from what I heard ( I didn't measure mine though)

13psi Feels nice, can't wait to install the 2.8 but I need more injector. Well we shall see anyways. I need to get my wideband working again and I'll throw the 2.8 on there.

Should be going to the track tomorrow.

Scarab,

The emanage is working alright but I can't use the additional injection map. The emanage thinks I'm at 100% duty cycle when I'm not all the way in the gas. So I'm not sure what is up with that. Currently I'm just using the airflow adjustment map (rpm vs tps) to tune the car.

do you have the boost pressure sensor?

Yeah I have the greddy boost sensor, which is reading correctly. The emanage just thinks the injectors are at 100% duty cycle so I can't add fuel in the addional injection map.

Although it will let me in the airflow adjustment map. Still works like a nicer safc model but I'd like to use it to it's full potential.
