Well i got my turbo on and I just upgraded the hot side piping to 2.5" so now i have 2.5 all the way around. So far the most ive had it at is 6 psi and thats in 3rd and 4th gear at like 5500 rpm. I have my BC hooked up to it but i dont think it is working so i might buy just the manual boost controller. Does anyone have any other ideas on what it could be because even if i disconnect the BC i cant get it past 6 psi. The turbo is a super 16G from hahns ecotec kit.
Boost leak, plugged cat, badly setup wastegate.
I've personally experienced the plugged cat. NOT pretty.

Pull the vacuum line off the wastegate and EASILY get into it. If you still don't surpass 6psi let us know.

Yea but it wont tell my FMU to raise the fuel pressure and ill be running major lean under boost.
You FMU should be hooked into the manifold which won't be affected by disconnecting the actuator signal line.
Be careful when you do this - the gate will stay closed thereby letting the turbo make max boost.

Did you try it without the boost controller? Maybe it is messed up like you said... Otherwise try what "sunfireGT" said. Then let us know...
I know without my boost controller i am seeing 8psi sometimes 9 at WOT.

put the wastegate actuator on a vacume line on the tb... believe me it will work way better...
horsepower is how hard you hit the wall, Torque is how far you push the wall with you

Sounds like you need to take Vacuum Line Routing 101...

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!
it's hahn... ass backwards his vaccum line goes from his TURBO to his FMU!!!!
according to king hypsy thats right....
SO we cant tell him to do that....

I have my Fmu Hooked up to my maniflold and it works alot better. Than the way hahn did it... When i had it hooked to the compresser housing, it wasn't seeing boost like it should, but when i hooked it to the IM it sees boost much better and raises the Fuel Psi like its suppose to..

LOL phil
I still say what everyone else says boost leak turbo isn't making any funny sounds is it?

Wait, Hahn actually specifies the FMU signal going to the compressor?
MetallicCavy wrote:When i had it hooked to the compresser housing, it wasn't seeing boost like it should, but when i hooked it to the IM it sees boost much better and raises the Fuel Psi like its suppose to..
Well, you should actually see a higher pressure at the compressor outlet than the manifold, but for some reason...I think it may just be more uniform at the manifold...Anyways, the reason you want to hook it to the manifold is so that it gets an accurate reading of what the engine is seeing, since it is the engine that you're dumping fuel into, not the compressor. This is especially important for those people who have their wastegates hooked up to the manifold...Can you imagine what would happen to the fuel when the throttle is lifted?

but yes could be a boost leak go over all your IC pipe connections..
tighten them a little bit even if they are on there good.

His high and mighty
the all mighty know all/be all of the ecotec boost.
Wait.
Didn't phil get boost before him? Hmmmmmmm.
Interesting.
Hey Hypsy... Have you ever gone to school for automotive repair/performance?
I have
now guys keep this on topic...
let me re-iterate
check all connections then if that doesnt change check the actuator rod....

Agreed... Vac leak would keep you from peaking boost.
Check from the turbo to the FMU, and from the FMU to the wastegate
Yea lets not start this @!#$ again.

where the HELL have you been and when did you get a CIVIC?
sorry... any updates on the problem? haha I'm just still surprised to see matt post somewhere other than off topic or AG lol
Well I hooked up the vac lines like MEtalliccavy said he had his and all I had was stalling problems and it ran like crap. I replaced all the vac lines from the wastegate to the BC and from the Compressor to the FMU. I ALSO took off my check valve to see what happened and took a drive. 7 psi but in 4th at WOT at 5000 rpm. Im going to check all the IC coneections here when UPS brings my new couplers today. I replaced all the Hot side tube yesterday so im going to check all the cold side over again. Anyways....im happy the ways shes running so im just going to do some tweaking and be done with it. Thanks for the help everyone and ill keep ya posted on the car progress within the next couple weeks.
I don't know why everyone is making a big deal about the way i have mine hooked up. Having it the way, i have it hooked up is working better for me. Than the way hahn said for it to be hooked up... I had it hooked up the way hahn sais to hook it up, and under boost the fuel pressure would not raise anymore than 5-10 psi. And my car is running great.
Blusplash: Sorry, yours ran like crap when you hooked it up the way i have mine... Did you have the ristrictor valve between the manny and FMU? Or maybe have it the wrong way... if so it will stall out... Mine did when i didn't have it in, and backwards...

Im not trying to argue with anyone or disagreing with anyone, but i also wanted to add. That from Chartechs website, they say the FMU is suppose to be hooked up to the Intake Mani to fuction properly.

well functioning properly and hahn dont seem to go in the same sentence...
BUT it's still a quality kit

Like your saying metalliccavy, you have yours hoked up different and thats fine. i mean you car runs fine and so does mine. The only problems i think i have right now is a boost leak or a faulty boost controller and that is getting firgured out as we speak. I think im just leaking boost at high rpms and higher boost. Ill let ya know whats going on when i figure it out.
Don't get me wrong... i love the hahn kit, it is very decent... But i didn't like the way they had the fmu hooked up cause it wasn't raising my fuel pressure like it should have been... So thats when i hooked it to the IM and it seemed to work alot better for me.
But i suppose other people have different experiences with it...
