Just thought I might share a moment of joy with you guys. As of 7:30pm yesterday a new reborn car was brought into the world. That's right my car is now officially boosted with the Saab 9-3 Garret turbo/manifold. The music the turbo plays is amazing and unlike anything ever heard before. The power, keeping in mind I'm still on stock injectors (waiting on Paco Loco) is astonishing....I'm thinking I'm around 200Hp mark and that's going to increase real real soon.
The only problems the shop encountered with installing this setup (I was gonna do the install but didn't wanna take any chances) was the DP, it was a bitch to work with as it needed a sharp 90 degree angle to make it go through and space was very limited. As it stands...I have about 2-3cm of space between the DP and the heater core hoses. Also my windshield fluid resovair had to be gutted to make room for the 2.5 in charge pipes.
Other then that the install went well and the setup looks so clean that you can't even tell that there's a turbo in there. The car runs great, no engine lights, stallings, or any other nuisances.
Also, I wanna thank the people on here who took time to answer my questions and also Rick and the crew @ RaceTek in Toronto for taking on the project and getting it done for me.
I'll try and post some pic's up later on.
very cool.
I love my saab setup!
I make a downpipe for them if anyone else needs one.

If only I had known earlier...I had mine custom made at an exhaust shop.
And to think that I was gonna buy a BOV and block off the internal......stupid idea. It sounds amazing and the attention I've been getting around here....People are baffled at the fact that the sound is coming from a Sunfire.
LOVE IT!
the best part about it is how fast it spools.
I have had many different turbos on my car and this one is by far the best.
makes for a fun daily driver.
on May 6th I am going to dyno with the mitsu TD04 and the Garrett 2052S (I have both).
I will have them set to the same boost level and compair the number.
I ran both on my car and they feel very similar.
I think the mitsu fells a little stronger at the same boost level but its hard to tell.

are you gonna get the GM reflash? that seems like a great (and cheap!!!) setup..
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
does anyone know where i can purchase the saab turbo sectup? I have searched ebay and the google but have come up empty handed, and im hoping this kit is carb legal w00t!
I would diffenitly like to hear what your at, HP wise.
and yeah it does spool up real quick.
Oh and I might add as well, the boost has been set to 5-6psi because I'm still on stock injectors and leaning out is a real threat.

Sorry forgot to add...this was technically not a kit....just a turbo and manifold off a 9-3 Saab. I gathered all the other parts myself. This was not purchased from Brandon but is similar to what he's offering (i thinink).
yeah, probably similar to my setup.
but like mark said his setup was not purchased from me. He did his own.
you need to get to the track and have some more fun with it now

I'll try...I heard your making progress....hope everything works out and you get what your looking for
.
Well dude, it was alot of fun working on your car. Rick and I had a great time installing it and doing the waterpump at the same time. I am really happy that you are having fun with the car and look forward to seeing it once the injectors and wideband are in there. This was our first Eco turbo install and we learned alot. Keep us posted and stop by Racetech once in a while and say hi. BTW, your wrap is in.
