well i was looking on my car for my egr to try and figure what i wanted to do with it when i boost (i was just going to tap into the log mani and just let the egr run as it would just so i don't have to mess with all that EGR trickery) BUT>.......i couldn't find one! i have a 97 sunfire GT and i looked all over the exhaust manifold for the damn thing and didn't see anything other than the 02. Im so confused right now cause the manifold has NO ports coming off to allow an egr to be hooked up. and as far as i've always known the egr has to come off of the mani (unless it was tapped into the head somehow) but it's just simply not there i believe. can someone help me out here!!!! this is great if it's true but kinda strange.

there is a channel cut into the manifold that you would not be able to see unless you removed it.

im sorry i don't quite understand. where does it go? i have to have an egr sensor somewhere so where is that? I mean, if the channel is cut, it has to exit somewhere and get back to the intake mani or wherever they remit the exhaust gases back to

The EGR valve itself is on the front of the motor, driverside of intake manifold, near the power steering reservior. The plug on it faces up.

therE's a channel comming from #4 exhaust port and it goes back into the head and comes out in front for the Egr. If you want to find a sensor or the Egr, check beside the INTAKE manifold.

dammit, yea i found it. I've never seen an egr ran like that before and the egr itself was under my intake so i didn't quite notice it. Didn't mean to sound too much like a newb but i've just never heard of one being ran like that. lookin for all external passages.
