I'm looking for some who has had the GM charger installed and had it dynoed so we know the actual #'s. Gm claims 250, but most of u guys r saying 200 at the wheels. I'm also wondering if there is anything missing from the kit that you need to purchase. And I know with a turbo you can control your boost by the flick of a button(i.e: boost controller), can you do the same with a super charger. Thanks guys Hopefully soon to be driving a sleeper 03 Sunfire

** If i write in caps its cause im @ work and i can only write in caps cause the keyboard is a retarded CAPS only keyboard.**
http://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=167186 not GM sorry but PACE PERFORMANCE states 250 HP but of course they don't statte wheel or crank. so most likely crank just thought I would ask someone who actually has the charger and would know for sure. I don't know what GM claims for HP because I can't find the kit through them on the net. Does anyone happen to know the site its on?? Also wondering if anyone knows anything about why you can only get the Hahn Racecraft Ecotec Turbo kits for manual tryannys only?? Thanks guys
also wondering if anyone has blown up there motor with this blower and still running stock internals. Because in no way is this NA motor meant to have all that air shoved through it. Also, wondering if anyone knows why the Hahn Racecraft Ecotec Turbo kits are only for manual trannys?? is it because the tranny can't handle it, or is it because of the shift points in the computer or something else, etc???
I think i know what happened. the person probaly got his info from gm compact book.It can get confusing some times. The book's first chapter is titled stock-250 they state if you do the supercharger , header ,cat back cold air kit and timming gears will get realy close 250. they mention 75 shot and all bolt ons will get you 250. Its a great book but its some times hard to understand. Hell in the book it also states that the supercharger fit any thing with 2.2 ecotec

I just love saying : "hell yeah it's meant for boost"
stock intenals can handle about 300 hp from what we've seen as of yet, but there is no definite number. the s/c is far from dangerous for this engine.

the way hahn runs their intercooler pipes it will only fit the 5spd
and the s/c hasnt been out that long so NO BLOWN motors
aahhahahahahahaa

I have an 03 Cavalier 5spd. <img src=http://registry.gmenthusiast.com/images/tinytim12333/timmy.gif> TIMMAY
i was being sarcastic
since a supercharger is also known as being BLOWN
internet humor , no one ever gets it right
sigh
Well i'll be going to a dyno by the end of May so thats when i'll get the numbers for my Auto Tranny Ecotec. I would like to go withing the next week but money is too tight for me right now. Lets just say it BLOWS to not have money.......
Let's see if anyone gets that internet humor right.....
Well I put down 212 to the wheels. No other modifications except the supercharger itself. The motor can handle the power with out any issue what so ever. Just need better traction that's all, and to learn how to drive the car again. Had it on for a couple months now, I've been racing with it every weekend. Runs great no complaints. Only thing is that I average about 8 psi not 11 but that is ok.
No dyno time, yet, car has only been done for a week, but I have confirmed sightings of 12psi under WOT accel. Otherwise you are looking at normally 4-5K shifts of about 8-9 psi.
I have lost a little on fuel economy, about 3 mpg but that is due to not keeping my foot out of it. went from about 400 per tank down to about 350 or so. Give me a month a check back and see if it is any better......
there is no bypass that works off boost
there is only a vacuum bypass , opens to allow non-pressurized air into the area past the rotors
the supercharger will build as much boost as possible (limited to the engines rev limiter) , and keep going as long as the bypass has 0 vaccuum on it
the s/c uses engine rpm to control its speed
a turbo will spin freely , and doesnt care about engine rpm so you have to control it more than you would a supercharger
simple way to think of the bypass on the s/c is a internal blow off valve , and a s/c has nothing like the waste gate on a turbo , except the rev limiter
Dose this come with a boost gauge?im ordering this in a few weeks
later james
Nope gotta order your own boost gauge.....
witch one would be good to get?and dose it come with everything to hook it up?
thansk james
