vac. lines questions
Thursday, April 13, 2006 7:29 AM
I looked at the Boost faq and found the diagram for vac lines. I was wondering where to hook the vac line for my boost gauge?

Can I double T on a vac line or it is not recommended?

Another question: my car is a 2001 cavalier 2.4L and will use the GM 2 bar map sensor and s/c reflash. Should I leave the vac line for the MAP sensor alone or can i T it?

Any recommendations for choosing the vac line to T on?

I did this originally because it was the easiest solution. It drove me nuts though, how ugly my setup was.

Now I've got mine on the line from the blower to the MAP. Much cleaner and out of the way.

This FPR vac line is so small. Should I change it to a bigger one to accomodate T ?

I don't think I can find a T small enough to do it on the FPR vac line.

the weas has no ingenuity for a clean setup?

the cleanest way i found was:
on the supercharger side, leave the rubber angle on the charger, but pull off the fpr line. from here, attach the T into that angle (i think the T i bought was a plastic 3/16,1/8, 3/16, or something). then, attach the original fpr (and the respective rubber connector) onto the the top of the T, and attach the gauge line on the side of the T. you can then run this line along the front of the car and then along the side of the car under some wire looms. completely hidden for the most part

and dave, i believe the FPR line is 3/16. most boost gauge lines are either the same or 1/8. there are definitely plastic T's at the auto store for like a dollar that are that size.
