Parting Together an M45 Charger. 2.4 owners read!

Alright, I figured this list would help. Thanks to Eric R. For supplying me with the list of items needed.

These are the parts that come with the GM SC. Minus the Carb sticker, which I couldn't find a number for at the time this was posted.

From first glance, it seems you're better off buying the ready made kit. GM wants an insane amount of money for some of the products needed, But maybe my math is wrong, feel free to check it.

And without further delay, Here is the parts list, prices and discontinuities for the 2.4 GM S/C m45 Supercharger.

Right.. but the brake booster tube and idler pulley are pretty important, aren't they?

Re: Parting Together an M45 Charger. 2.4 owners re
Tuesday, March 28, 2006 6:10 AM
... i made my own idler pulley when my stock one went bad, also re-enforced hose would work just fine as vac tube.

The stock brake booster can be modified, you dont need the new GM one.

the point is the important parts arent avaliable

and if your gonna b fabricating , why not fab up for a M62 or M90

Re: Parting Together an M45 Charger. 2.4 owners re

because then your making a MANAFOLD, not just using a hose, and a pulley.

the stock air/oil seperator should fit under the supercharger..... so dont need that either....

I think you can make it happen.

ah well hopefully this knowledge is beneficial to some.

I'm saving up for the kit personally...

seems overly difficult to get some of these parts and the expense at which they come. Sure I figured that some parts are easier to get than others but this list is pretty good as far as how much gm will be able to help you get your stuff.

Bump for possible stickyness? This list is still pretty current and accurate.

Also just because it is discontinued does not mean you can't get them either. Probably still some at dealers in stock. We were looking for 97 Blue carpet recently. The dealer said it was discontinued so we were like what we can't replace it if it neds to be. They said they have a number to call and they can track were any item had been ordered and sent, and if it sold. He said he was sure they would find some sitting somewhere. Might be worth people looking into now, and maybe buying some of those parts. Maybe people currently with chargers. I was also told by my GM contact that they had thousands of the charger kits sitting, and they have been talking of melting them down.
