Im trying to swap a walbro intank 255lph fuel pump into my stock fuel module, but ive hit a road block.
I dont know what to do with this jet barb. the stock fuel pump has one but the 255lph that i wasa looking at does not . im pretty sure that it needs to be hooked up to function right. i just need to know what you guys are doing about this? is there anouther walbro 255lph that does not have the jet barb. if so what is the part number. I dont think this is a problem for 99+ just 96-99. Just looking for some help
The pics are showing the jet barb and it hooked to the module.
Mine was like that and I was told that the jet barb thingy is only really needed on the stock pump. The walbro doesnt have that thing cause it isn't needed....
So to answer your question don't hook it back up just leave it unhooked it will be fine....Thats what I have done and have had no problems....

thanks.... That jet barb and little black hose are used to keep the module full of fuel at all times. Im guessing then that the walbro pumps must do the same thing but not need to be hooked to that hose.
thanks again
I have no fuel cut whatsoever.....I've even accidentally taken it down to under 1/8th of a tank and had no problems........And I didn't modify the cup at all either....

I think taht may be part of the reason for the extremely long prime time for the walbro pump, mine takes probably 4-5 seconds to prime.
i put mine in and do have fuel cut out at 1/8 -1/4 of a tank and im sure alot of people have that same problem .

^ exactly the same for me as the two people above me posted.
those who had the fuel cut did you not hook up this jet barb, or the pump you used just didnt have one... because that would explain why there is a fuel cut. like i said the jet barb ejects enough fuel to keep the module full. the fuel that goes to the engine comes from the module not just strait from the tank.
youre supposed to go out to a hardware store and find a brass barb that fits into the one hole on the walbro and hook that line up per Mr. Pute who has done that.....
if you take a pic of the top of the walbro I can show you which hole...

Fuel cut under 1/4 of a tank, I have taken mine way below that, its just if you give it any kind of throttle, the fuel will cut for a little bit cuz the gas in the tank goes to the back, but...oh welll...just keep it up there.
i have that brass thing hooked up.
sorta sucks. but i fill up at 1/2 tank. thing too why i think some people have fuel cut issues and some dont is that some use a FMU and some dont. I have a FMU and probably the demand for higher fuel pressure under a 1/4-1/2 tank dont help.
i got used to it. i get about 300miles from a full tank to the half way mark. so that is fine with me.
Anyone:: As to the "Fuel Cut" does this mean that the pump isn't pumping enough fuel to the engine or what.
as to this..

it just sounds like the pump isnt keeping the module full. the whole reason there is a module assembly is to keep the pump always in fuel, like when your going up hill , or accelerating. so it just sounds like all this talk about "fuel Cut" is because the pumps arent filling there modules.
i just can't understand why if you added a brass fitting (jet barb) why there would still be a fuel cut.
