Question On Install of 2.6" Pulley on GM SC
Sunday, March 26, 2006 7:11 PM
A little background, I bought my SC kit off an .org member, he bought it off another person, the guy I bought it from said he thought it had a smaller pulley on it but he wasnt sure. Anywho, I bought a 2.6" pulley off Jimmy99Z and went to match it up with my SC and I have a problem.

My current pully is attached by three bolts, my new 2.6" pulley has 5 holes in it.

IS this right?

Also for removing the pulley, do I just unbolt it and use a pulley puller to get it off, is it pressed on like an alternator pulley?

Will the pulley be visually smaller or are the "grooves" just cut lower? I held my current and my 2.6 up to eachother and they appear to be the same.

Hate to seem like a newb but just need some quick answers.

Thanks
Chris

Kinda sounds like you have the embree set up on there right now......Cause the pulley boys set up is held by 5 bolts.......You might have to get the hub from pulley boys because the holes prolly wont match up for you to put that 2.6 on....

Do you know what the embree set up is size wise, like 2.7 or something?

Who has the hubs, how much and anyone got one for sale?

Does Embree make a 2.5 or 2.6 pulley, can you buy just the hub for pulley boys? If so how much? Wasnt there a GP?

I should just sell my pulleys and get a 2.5. How do I know what pulley is on my car now, I know its an embree, but not sure size. I think I got 6 PSI with this one, so probably about 2.7? Will a 2.6 with alky bring me to 10 PSI? I am thinking I might just get the 2.5. Any modding to the snout?

Chris-
If you loosen the 3 allen bolts on the pulley, and slide the pulley off, it is stamped/engraved on the inside of the pulley with the size. At least that is the story with my Embree pulleys.

I have a 2.65 on the car now and I see 7-8 psi w/ alky.
W/O alky I barely make 5psi.
Pulleyboys just made a new 2.5 that is supposed to clear the snout w/ no mods.
Mine should be here tom, so we'll see.

As of when I bought the Embree setup, there were no 2.5s available. Might want to email Paul, and see if he made any. They only had 2.8, 2.7, and 2.6. Good luck, and **BUMP**
