Thanks!

an fmu changes fuel pressure as it sees boost because there is a diaphram inside that closes off the fuel return line when the vaccum nipple on top of the fmu sees boost. the more boost it sees the more it closed off the return line. when the return line get closed off it brings up fuel pressure and forces more fuel through the injectors.

And an adjustable fuel pressure regulator allows you to set your base fuel pressure. and some afpr may have more than a 1 to 1 ratio. like you can get an afpr that will set your base fuel pressure and give you a 2 to 1 ratio. so it would set base fuel pressure and give you more fuel when it sees boost.
