well i have my bottom end done 8.5:1.. now its time for my head.... this is what i have planned ...
P&P. 5 angle valve job, 1mm size valves and 2.3 cams and mantapart springs
..... my set up.... Spearco intercooler, garett gt30r , log turbo manifold 720 injectors and i also have 550cc .2.3 oil pump conversion, and well all the other esentials.... anyway im the only 4 banger and a chevy in my group of firends they ALL have Mustang's... they have pretty good knowledge in engines but not with forced induction... they tell me that maybe getting bigger valves isnt such a good idea and cams because it;s gonna bring my boost down?? hurmmm well just wanna know whats they best way to go with the work needed to be done to my head with my set up ... My goal 300 hp and up .. plz i dont need a lecture i know what im getting my self into ... .// separate question......what kind of head work is need to get low end boost ? just curious.... well thanks...

Maybe your friends are thinking of camshafts with alot of valve overlap causing negative effects with boost. The HO Camshafts should be fine, I believe there are other members on here with HO camshafts and running turbocharged, atleast I haven't seen any complaints about them. Bigger valves can help, yes.

Seperate Questions: What are you going to use to control fuel pressure with the 550 CCs? What are you using for fuel management under boost?

What do you mean by "low end boost"?

low end : out the hole/ the 60ft / 1/8 mile........ as for the fuel management im going to invest in something good Motec m4 cause if im going to do it might as well do it right i see many people going no were with what everyone else is using and with my luck ill be running mid 15's :p ...... or mayb MS2 not sure dont know anyone that uses it and well hptuners dont seem very prepared for boost......

Well the GT30R is a ball bearing turbo so it's basically instant full boost because they spool so fast but even if you didn't have a ball bearing turbo it all depended on how well you matched the turbo to your motor.

As far as fuel management, MS2 is a good option, I've never heard of the Motec system though. If you decide not to get either or, you could always get an FMU and get an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator to turn the base fuel pressure down with the bigger injectors at idle, otherwise you'll flood out the motor (quick).

FYI...Your boost levels will drop but you'll be gaining air and the wastegate will keep the boost at the same level it was before. The way it was explained to me, and its obviously with just made up numbers, is that if you were running 10PSI on your stock head you are now running the equivilent of 12PSI on the new head even though your gauge will still read 10PSI.

Thats how it was explained to me. As said though the numbers are all faked just for comprehension use. If that makes no sense let me know any I'll try again

I used to race cars, now I race myself.
