Tubular Manifold Price Opinion

There is a repudable fabricator that I know of that makes custom and production tubular turbo manifolds for various engines.

What price would you guys pay for a tubular manifold. He gives you the option of T304 Stainless Steel, or mild steel with ceramic coating. Thanks for your opinions.

p.s. the manifolds are for a t3/t4 turbos and external wastegates flanges are included.

If he can make one in t304 stainless for a 2.4 engine with the 086 head from a 2.3 HO I'd pay $400 - $500 for it.

2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.

400-600 wouldnt be a bad price for a turbular manifold for the 2.4L twin cam. Add $100 to the final price for the coating.

The 2200/ 2.2 header from jtuners is around $600 bucks w/o coating and s/h, and thats only mild steel. If you could get a design like there's made out of SS, you could easily get $600+, at least from me, well, as long as it doesn't crack in a week like there's did (that was also when they were Cavalier Connection, don't know if they redesigned/ strengthened it)

^^^ Any way you could find me a picture of that header? I'm your knight in shining armor, my friend As soon as I clean up the flange we made and drill it's holes, it's on to the fabrication process. If people tell me "this is the design we want" that's what we'll make.

I had a talk with him. He is on the drawing board to make them. He is going to make them for the 2.4, 2.2 eco's, and even the 2200's. The 2.4 is the one he is going to make first. I am going to allow him to test fit it on my 99' Sunfish Gt.

I'd be interested in it for a 2.4 with the stock head, not the 086.

Where did yours crack? Was it a weld that cracked or the metal? Do you know what kind of mild steel it was? Thanks.

^^^^ Not sure exactly what type of mild steel except that it was only 18 gauge. The 2nd and 3rd runner cracked right past the maniflod flange, and then under the collector.(the pipes, not the welds) Remember, this was back when it was cavalier connections, not Jtuners. I dont know if they changed much in the design, but mine was definitely not the only one to crack. There was a post over a year ago that had a few people saying there's cracked within weeks of use. I personally think its do to a 15lb turbo sitting on top of the thin steel pipes that made it crack, although CAVCON sad it was due to heat issues from a sh!tty tune. It's possible yes, but I think they were b.s.ing me so they didn't have to fix/replace the product.
