okay i'll be running a hi flow fuel pump, 550 cc injectors, rising rate regulator, wide band o2 sensor and of course a t3/t4 turbo. what the hell else do i need to control this stuff? im i going to have problems idling with those injectors or does the fuel pressure regulator control that? and how can you retard the timing cheaply so it wont knock? im just wondering if i watch the o2 sensor readings how to i correct or adjust the air/fuel mixture. in the faQ i always get lost or this stuff is missing, it say what you need to get but there some info missing on how to do it right from start up.
counting the days to turboing.
snow go away lol
also please explain this in boost and out of boost and how you do that? i thought it always be running when the engines runs?
Well first, how much boost do you want to be running? 550cc injectors is a bit much for most applications on stock engines, and you will have problems idling with those injectors. The FPR does take care of it a little bit, but you can only turn it down so far.
The in boost/out of boost thing is pretty simple, you won't be in boost unless you really give it, usually 50% throttle or more, and above 2500-3000 RPM. If you are below that, or just cruising along, your car will run in vacuum like normal.

If you are asking this you need to do a LOT more research before turboing your car.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

10K PB: 54:26
if your doing the car in your reg , do yourself a favor and put the 550cc injectors in your tool box and get a set of 320cc or 360cc
youll be alot better off , the 550 will flood the car
planning 10 psi max. i read a bit about this stuff but there are some blanks i need filled. what about the ford red tops? got them too?
i think this will be at least the second post of yours where you ask to be spoonfed every last bit of info regarding how to turbo your car. Use the search button, read the boost faq, and try doing some of your own research. Not only will you learn more that way but you'll start finding links and info that you may find valuable down the line.

I found a used condom once, very disturbing.
So you went out and bought a bunch of parts for your car without even understanding how they work, how to control them or why they're not good for your setup?
As said - read read read read read. Search and read more. And if you can't figure it out just stick to driving the car around Naturally Aspirated.
Why is it that the last 2 years is the "turbo" phase. Why can't people just stick to widebodies and 20" rims.... they have to breach into the sanctity of boost because it's the new "cool" thing to do.
Turboing is not easy, it's not cheap, and it's not something you do overnight. It's not a bolt-on, and it's NOT something you trust somebody uneducated to do.
When are people going to figure all this out?

well if he added widebody, 20" rims, and a wack of stickers, no need for boost......
seriously though listen to Chris..... he knows everything there is to know about turboing a 2.4l from looks to function, he's always bugging me about looks and function, and I only NOW after being turbo for 6 months, have got the function part down, he did both, it took him HOURS of research, and HOURS of wrench time, oh and HOURS of painting

As for hours of painting - no. Lots of planning... and calculating. Painting doesn't take long, and most of my ish is powdercoated
if by hours of painting he means hours of prep work.. ugh prep work
screw that.. i'll let a body shop take care of it for me. Thats one thing I suck at is body work.. I refuse to spend 5 hours prepping a surface to have a fly ruin it since I don't have a paint booth
yo see were off topic here already lol were on how to paint your @!#$ to make it look good who cares. im going to buy high heat black paint and paint ever thing black, intercooler, charge pipes, h.o manifold and it will look plain but thats what im going for. plain and out of site might even put the gauges in the glove box lol out of sight out of mind.
and yes im very glad for not having tweed seats or a cavalier newer than 1999. i picked my car for one reason i love it.
as for buying some parts no i bought a existing kit a guy was already running.
and why does every one want boost cause the stock cavi didnt come with enough horse power to keep poeple satisfied. im going to keep my stock rims too. bling = cheese body kits put them on your hondas.
as for the the dick head who droves a VW i read the Faq and it tells you what you need go read it and see what i mean.I want the info spoon fed thats why im here so tell me something i dont know you stupid pile of crap.

As for the dick head who can't spell or apparently type a coherent sentence.... EVERYONE in this thread told you the exact same thing I did. IF you have a SPECIFIC question, than ask it, but so far all you've done is say "hey, i bought all these parts but i don't know how they work together, what should I do?". To that, our only logical response would be to tell you to do more research.
