OK just to let you know I read the FAQ's so if you could please just help me out a little. I am still learning and researching... but in reading the FAQ's i have become just a little confused. I saw and understand the formula's to figure out what size injector to get and i read about all the fuel pressure and such.
I plan on getting a S/C and i am still not quite sure on the fuel issue. I came to the conclusion that i would want to up the fuel pressure, but from what I read in the FAQ's i dont understand. If the stock pump can only handle 60psi, and it is maxed at full throttle, then if i did add all those extra parts that i should have with the S/C to up the fuel pressure, wouldnt that just burn up the pump anyway? also im not exactly sure how the Emanage and the SAFC thing works and if you absolutely need one with a S/C.
Can i request some of you guys with a S/C to list your setups so i can get some ideas and maybe help me to understand a little bit better THANX!
...are you trolls that dumb that you cant realize mid 15s is slower then 14s?
To sum it up - the stock pump isn't that great... BUT - everything is dependant on your injector sizing.
If you have 24# injectors and you're running them at WOT @ 60 psi they will be putting out 33.1 lbs of fuel roughly.
If you have 36# injectors in the car and you're running them at WOT @ 60 psi they will be putting out 49.6 lbs of fuel roughly.
Seeing that you can see that you don't need to run the pump at 60 psi to achieve the amount of fuel you want so long as your injectors are sized right.
Furthermore, most people turn down the stock pressure by about 15lbs at idle which drops your base pressure.... if your injectors are sized right you won't need to run a ridiculous amount of pressure to get the amount of fuel you need.
There is a limitation ot this, of course, the PCM and adjustable fuel pressure regulator can only help you idle injectors until a certain size, then you need an electronic way to control things in which case pressure is no longer an issue, you''ll be mostly using duty cycle to control things.
That's a really brief summation for ya.
