for some reason i thought my turbo wouldn't line up with that I those the bolt down part was the long way instead of the wide

if you mount a turbo sideways (compressor inlet facing square to the underside of the hood), really the only negative thing I can see you running into besides difficult piping is lack of oil flow to the compressor side of the shaft. I've thought about doing that for engine bay space (or lack thereof) but overall, it's a pretty bad idea.

thats how i have mine and on the 2.4L's the intake part sits right in line of a clear path that makes me almost sertain that GM had planed to turbo these cars..
