does it matter what size the piping on a turbo manifold is ? is there any kind of side effect to getting the piping bigger ? ? ive seen some hondas with bigger piping than the ones sold on ebay and some of the turbo manifold sellers ofr the 2.4l.. so is bigger manifold better ? and the size of the wastegate as well ?

Bigger pipe slows the exhaust flow, but decreases pre-turbo back pressure.

Bigger piping = more turbo lag.

You can get away with 1 1/4" inside diameter just fine. 1 1/2" ID is the max you need unless your got your extensively ported and the manifold flange to match. if your planing on 250 hp or less I'd say go with the 1 1/4 styile log schedule 10 t's and 90's. 250+ inch a half. 350+ go with a turbo header for the best results.
