P0300 Code Please Help!
Friday, February 03, 2006 5:15 AM
i have been having this problem. at cruiseing speed it will misfire and sputter but if i put my foot into the gas this problem will go away until i am back at part throttle. i have gone through 3 different types of plugs.....stock, ngk tr6's, and now stock SRT-4 plugs. all have had this problem but i have noticed that once this situation starts if i am going down the road and i leave the car in gear with the clutch out and turn the car off and then back on at a roll this problem goes away until i turn the car off? WTF???
i'm thinking that it could be my map sensor or my TPS going out but i'm not sure. I have heard of some people with the 03 ecotec having this problem due to bad injectors and o2 sensors but i am clueless so i'm asking the ORG for help.

yes i am
I bypassed the MSD and the problem was still present
so i'm thinking maybe the stock Ignition Control Module could be going out but i want to be sure before i go buying one of those.

this code comes up when you run an msd without the 8914 part or its hooked up incorrectly. It is camshaft postion, the eco doesnt use a sensor for camshaft position it detects when the 4th cylinder is firing and then the ecu reads that, when you hook up the msd your bypassing that and if you dont use the camsync generator part you will get the code

it detects when #4 is firing for the cam signal that signal is sent off the icm on the brown/white wire back to the PCM

ok problem solved i was running the cam sync generator but the sensor wire that wraps aroung the #4 boot had slipped up toward the idi cover and away from the plug and spring. moved it down and zip tied it and all is gravy now. Thanks a bunch guys!

Rodimus, is that 8914 the correct PN for the cam sync generator? This is a recurring question our customers have, you seem to be up on it. Thanks!
