Ecotec Fuel Managment solved!?

I would have thought that many others have already checked into doing this but I could quite be wrong. Maybe Im missing something and it wont work. Ive email each one of these vendors with the idea on whether or not these fuel management units will work on our cars and this is what they told me.

MAF Translator
Yes it should and will work, no one has ever actually tuned it for a Jbody so we would have to find our own parameters. They also told me "We have no interest in the "sunfire" market."

Mini- AFC
"Yes, it works for the 2.2 as well and will allow you in advanced mode to add fueling when under full load. You'll need a scan tool. More can be read about it on easyperformance.com"

Revitup Motorsports boost upgrade kit
"sure,it will work you will just have to tune it yourself"
Their unit is sold separatly for 389.00 I believe

Has anyone tried any of these units yet? I was looking to go down to Central Ohio to Intense Racing until he made it clear he doesnt care for my business. Now Im deciding between the other 2. Hopefully this is good information for all of us.

Ummm, I don't even need to look at the links to know that you need to do more research around here...then you would know we don't have a MAF sensor...
Also, I'm assuming you are referring to the ECOTEC trying to maintain a 14.7:1 a/f under WOT, instead of going into open loop like a good little motor. A solution to this has already been offered by Hypsy, and none of the items you posted would have a chance of bypassing this downfall anyway (once again, didn't open them, just going off the titles...computer won't open up any other sites right now for some reason).

Well theres Hypsy's method of snipping a wire, and theres also my method of removing injector control from the stock ecu via the megasquirt. These are the only 2 reliable methods i know of thus far for people with the close loop problem.

MAF translator I've heard about for other cars B4, like OHV said ecotec cav's and sunfires don't have MAF's

The mini AFC does not have enough info on their site to determine a definate answer, HOWEVER it compairs itself to the MAF translator so........... I doubt it

The revitup kit contains some kind of control box, however it is intended for use on the cobalt ss and ion redline so it might not be compatable with the 2.2 NA eco ecu, and even if it was compatible with our ECU it dosn't apear to be adjustable but IDK for sure what it's capable of..

I'm with the 2 above me.

Anything that deals with the MAF is pointless on our cars. I didn't even have to open the links to know all of the things up there were pointless.

Also just because something works for the Cobalt SS and Ion Redline...doesn't mean it's gonna work on our cars. In fact it means there's a good chance it won't if anything.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.
