375hp Eco Injectors?
Monday, January 23, 2006 10:27 PM
So I need to get injectors that will support about 375hp, which turns out to be 62lb/hr or 660cc.
Obviously the Ford green tops won't work, so what are my options for injectors that will fit in the stock location? Has anyone tried Siemens 62lbs injectors? I wonder if they fit? What would I call the tip of the Eco injector if i contact some injector companies to see if they would fit? T

THanks a bunch

Jesus....

Sorry, just wanted to say that...375 whp ECOTECs make me wanna cry.

Hanh is using 550cc's? What psi boost are they running? 550cc's seems like it would be running pretty close to the radged egde of 85 dc.

My goal is 375 crank hp with 15psi boost, water to air intercoolered.

Fuel Flow Rate= (HP x BSFC) / ( Num. Injectors x Max Duty Cycle)

Assuming a .65 BSFC to be on the rich, safe side and a duty cycle of 85%

(375 x .65) / (4 x .85) = 71.69 lb/hr

If I use 62lb/hr injectors with a base fuel pressure of 45, 1:1 boost/pressure rise, then at 60psi of fuel pressure, the 62lb/hr injectors will flow enough.

Anyway.....550cc injectors seems really small for 400whp, but hey Bill Hahn chime in and lemme know what your doing

You have to remember that your calculating for a 1:1 gain. Bill, and I, are running something like a 6:1 FMU gain so you can run your idle down a bit and still flow plenty of fuel up top.

Last I heard from the Hahn's they had 550cc injectors and were running over 20PSI on a TDO6H-20G-TDO5H-10CM2 Super 20G turbo. That's a lot of flow BTW.

I'm running the Super 16G (TD05-16G-10CM2) at 15PSI on 415cc injectors. By the end of the season I'll be running 20+ PSI on the same turbo or 15PSI on the Super 20G. On 12PSI I'm making 260WHP (roughly 300BHP) right now. When I get my new head here in about 2 weeks and re-dyno I hope to be at, or over, the 300WHP mark on 12PSI. All of this on 415cc injectors...and it runs a nice flat 12:1 A/F ratio throughout.

If your insistent on getting huge injectors I can get you a set of Accel 60lb/hr (625cc) injectors for about $103 each. Same brand I'm running, and I think it's the same that Bill and Adam are running in the Sunfire.

Ya you guys are running crazy fuel pressures! I wanna stay within the 60-70psi range.

I think that I am gonna be getting some Siemens 60lb/hr injectors which have a really wide angle distribution and are peak and hold. They are about 60 each

I will be using a standalone.

Right now with the 415cc and 6:1 disk I'm running about 70PSI at 15PSI. Right where you want to be. You may want to buy a little big in any case since your going to a full standalone and can tune them back some. If you want to keep the Eco ECU intact then you could probably get away with 500cc injectors for safety...but I think 60lb is gonna be way too rich.

What is your base fuel pressure setting?

Oh also, do those Accel injectors fit into the stock eco head and rail?

I run an idle pressure of 15-20PSI, but its set at 25PSI for the winter to help it start easier. Yes I know this is a very low PSI but they run just as good at 20PSI as they do at 45PSI (normal test pressure) so I left them there. Also lets me have a lower top end PSI.

They fit right into my head and rail but you do have to clip the factory connectors and solder on some new ones, but thats easy as heck to do.

I think I will recalc with a lower idle pressure and see what I need. I don't mind the electrical part, thast easy.

Well I'm going to bed because I have class from 9AM-8:30PM tomorrow (only 2 classes too) and I'm beat.

Shoot me an email here or IM with anything you need or click my sig and hop over to my store to see what I have up right now. Unfortunately due to my laptop dying on me I can't add anything to the site for about a week but I can get a lot more than what is on the site. If you go to my webstore and sign up as a customer I can shoot you the list of the newest companies I can order from so you have an idea of what I'm gonna start adding soon.

$103+ each is steep. i can get you a better deal than that, it just requires a little bit of work on your part. if interested let me know.

For apx 375 Crank HP running NO FMU and running 60 psi of fuel pressure @ WOT assuming that your going to reach your goal of 375 HP using apx 20 psi of boost you are looking @ 54.88lb aka 577cc injectors.....

Sounds like I am gonna be whoring my self out to get a better deal. LOL What you offering your's at and are they the Accel's?

As for my power goals, I think 15psi will be plenty boost to make 375hp. I plan on spinning the motor to 7500, the heads are already ported, My intake will be custom made with runner lengths tuned for peak hp around 6750-7000rpm's. Torque will probably peak around 5000rpm's maybe higher.
Seeing that people are making 300hp at the crank on 12psi with stock heads and air-air intercoolers I think 375 is easibly reachable with lower intake temps, and higher flowing induction system. We will see.

I think I will try 550cc injectors first and see how they run.

Thanks guys

no, you dont have to whore yourself out. you just have to be able to splice. i have access to getting spacers and mopar stage 3 injectors which just happen to flow what you're looking for. i took them off of my car because i ran way too lean and dropped down to the regular srt-4 injectors.

so in the end you'll get 4 spacers (with orings), 4 USCAR connectors, and 4 mopar stage 3 injectors. I'll send you a price via pm and we can go from there.

btw, the USCAR terminals open up a wide variety of compatible injectors (ex: 03/04 cobras are USCAR terminals).
