Power Door / Alarm Question
Monday, April 25, 2005 1:17 PM
I'm having a small problem at the moment. The car I'm working on is a 02 4dr cav with factory power doors and I'm guessing that it came with factory keyless entry.

The door lock switch only has orange, white, and light blue wires compared to the ones that are w/o keyless entry and contain grey and tan as well.

The alarm only unlocks and locks the driver door. Is the master switch on the passenger side? If so, should I connect the wiring to the passenger side.
The alarm is a Concordia A-88.

I have the drivers side wired as followed.

""Alarm____________________________________________Car

Orange -------------------------------------->Grey from switch
White ---------------------------------------->Grey to actuator
Yellow---------------------------------------->Orange
Orange/Black------------------------------->Tan from switch
White/Black---------------------------------->Tan to actuator
Yellow/Black--------------------------------->Orange

You will need to cut the Grey wire and Tan wire so they run through the alarm, not just hook them all together. The orange wire is +(12 volt) if I remember correctly."

I noticed that the wiring is a little different from the ones with keyless entry and the ones w/o. Was I supposed to connect the wires a different way?

if you look inside the drivers side kick panel, you can find the BCM. On the violet plug look for pin A4 light blue wire...that is your lock wire
look for pin A3 white wire...that is your unlock wire
these wires require a momentary positive 12V pulse to activate the locks.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence you tried!

thanks for the info. i was able to figure it out last night. if you have keyless entry, you do not need to cut anything. you just splice into the lock and unlock wires. thanks again.
