i have 500 dollers and a 93 cavy and im not sure what to get,i want mostly bass what would all of you guys get any help would be nice?
Schooling? Spelling tutor perhaps?
Considering we have NO idea of what type of "system" you currently own, making any suggestions on how to improve it would prove quite difficult.

i know very little about stereo's but i'd imagine you can get a cheap CD player, woofer and amp for 500 bucks...if you already have some of that then you could perhaps upgrade to a better amp for more power to the sub. another way to go would be to get an MP3 player with the 500 bucks so you can play music you like on your crappy system then slowly upgrade the sound quality as you get the cash. if you do a search you can find several threads about speakers that will fit in the stock mounts (or you can build your own adapter out of 5/8 MDF) upgrading to better speakers even at your current amperage can get you more boom if you go for the right kind of speakers.

Try eBay.. Likely be your best bet, just watch the shipping and handling charges
500.... i would get a nice eclipse head unit and possibly some rockford or eclipes rear speakers... possibly fronts if you had money left over.. that would give you a sweet start..

Even at Canadian tire you can get a sony 1000 watt amp for $200 and a 12" 1200 watt sub for $150.

uh if you want just bass i would go with an audiobahn 1300 watt amp and an eternal 10" with a wall behind the seat. The box you could make yourself just make sure you look around to find the specs for a box and make sure you build it very carefully with alot of bracing and port it. If you want dont build a wall and have it slam towards the rear of the trunk and port it towards the vent on the passenger side of the vehicle. I had a diamond tdx 12 inch wired into one ohm and a 1200.1 mono amp from audiobahn and it was like no other. If you like to have your nose hair itch then you'll love it. Other than that theres tons of companies out there that offer decent performance for the dollar. memphis is decent for budgets. I like audiobahn. Diamond audio is my favorite so far. If you can save your money try a tdx dual 2 ohm 12 or 10 and it'll rattle your brains out.

i just spent a good bit to get an alpine deck and kicker speakers for my escort, and i'll be goin back to get 2 comp vr 12's and an amp to push em, so what im gonna do is jack ur thread here and ask what kinda amp i'd need to push those 2 speakers lol

Instead of wasting your money on a COMPLETE CHEAP SYSTEM, get yourself a ALARM, then save for a Nice Radio you want. Then get speakers, and then SUBS and amps. Why waste money just because you have a lump sum?
Or do what you want, GET CHEAP AS POSSIBLE system that might last a summer, then have some JACKA$$ see you tryin to bump down the road, and have them STEAL your CHEAP system, then in the end you have NO SYSTEM, and a damaged car.

first off, if someone wants your stuff.. the only thing you can do to stop them is to BE THERE PHYSICALLY.. alarms are only a deterent, it will hold off 16 yr old kids who want free stuff, but a real theif will get your stuff no matter wut (i have no alarm and have had my system [2amps, 2 12's, 6.5 componet, HU] for almost 7 months) no problems
second of all, if you only have 500 dollars buy the best that 500 dollars can get you, if i were you i would note the suggestions given to you here and then GO TO THE STORE and listen for yourself, we all have our own tastes... u can ask 20 ppl what speaker sounds the best and get 20 different responses, in the end YOU have to decide on your own, your a big kid and you can make this decision on your own i promise

truth is 90% of theifes are lazy and oppurtunist, if someone really really wants to steal your stuff, but in reality most people will leave a car with an alarm to go steal from a car with no alarm. in 15 years ive had my car broken into twice, happened the first couple of years i had the car, after the second time i put an alarm in, and have had alarms on all my cars since. and have gone13 years without an incident. majority of guys just bust the window and grab what they can. most will avoid an alarm, unless its a pro, and generally pro's arnt out looking for cavaliers or sunfires, their out ganking lexus and bimmers.
