HELP.....AFTER MARKET RADIO
Friday, April 15, 2005 11:30 AM
Hey Guys/Girls,
I have a 2003 chevy cavalier and I installed an after market radio. I knew about the features built into the radio and did without. Everything worked great, but for my birthday, my brother bought the kit that allows the features to be implimented while running the after market radio. You littereally have to install your original radio with the aftermarket....well, when he did this, the turn signals stopped working when used by the turn signal switch, if you run the hazards they work just fine. I tried checking every fuze but no luck...anyone got any ideas?

sounds like you need to take your car back to the dealer to fix the rear turn signal recall

As far as I know, the turn signals aren't even on the same circuit as the radio. I have an 03, and I'm perfectly happy without my chimes. If you want the chimes, go to any install shop, and ask for the GM Class 2 adapter. It has a harness and a chime module, that will reproduce your chimes and you can splice in a harness. I just splice my Alpine harness in right behind my factory harness so I didn't have to cut it off, and I don't care about chimes.
